Hello Guys,

This is Saad from India. I need advice in buying a new high-end PC for the below requirements:

1. Play current and will be released AAA titles like Max Payne 3, Far Cry 3, Crysis 3, COD Ghosts, Tomb Raider, Batman Arkham Origins, GTA 5, etc. etc.

2. Watch Blue Ray Movies and YouTube videos.

Now, I already have a Dell Full HD LED Monitor which I will be keeping as it has the audio outputs and is convenient for me to plug in my headphones at night time. I don't need keyboard/mouse, speakers and any other accessory. Just the CPU.

My Budget is Rs. 25-30k

Please help me with the best configuration under this price. Thanks in advance!!

Please be clear. You need just a CPU or an entire PC? 500$ USD (30k rs) will make an entire rig pretty difficult.

The entire tower is not called a "CPU". It sounds like you want an entire PC, OP?

I think You'd be happy to learn that even folks in the tech industry actually do that, causing massive confusion by such sloppy use of terms.:p

I know because I actually met one such example of a person on a different forum.

Anyway, at $500 USD, the options are quite limited. A core i5 processor is out of the question, and a powerful discrete card is also likely not going to happen.

I understand if it won't be top notch. I just want something to be able to run these games on 1080p at atleast medium settings. Even 720p Will do.

If you have a PC that isn't ancient, try to savage as much as possible. The parts that you can't use can be sold to increase your budget.
I'm not sure for $500, but for around 650 bucks, I think this would be a decent non-OS build:
GPU-SAPPHIRE 100358L Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 $100
CPU-AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) $120
Optical Drive- An OEM drive for $20 is decent
PSU-COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus RS500-PCARD3-US 500W ATX12V v2.3 $40
HDD-Western Digital WD Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM $60
RAM-G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) $80
Case-Corsair Carbide Series 200R Black Steel / Plastic compact ATX Mid Tower Case $70
Mobo-MSI 970A-G46 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 $100
CPU cooler-COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO $30
Excluding tax, that'll be around 620 dollars. It's a bit over your budget, but it'll deliver a punch for the price.
PS: If you really can't spend any extra money, I suggest to look at console gaming. It's much cheaper, and is just as fun. :D

I'm not from India but I have lots of Indian friends and they all call the PC tower as "CPU" ... Seems like a cultural common term.. :p

But Saad, Technically (you being a geek like all of us here), CPU is only the Processor ;)

Thanks Ray for the extreme details. I guess I can put in the extra money. Just so you know I don't need Windows.

GODDAMNIT! I logged on just to post that same link but you beat me to it. :(

Forget EVERYTHING I said: the PC bundle from the link is an amazing deal! The parts are all very budget-friendly and powerful. The AMD processor will keep you safe when the zombies*COUGH*I mean 8-core dependent games come out. Stupid next-gen consoles and their 8-cores :colbert:

From looking at comparisons of component prices in flipkart and newegg, the latter (newegg) is usually 10-30 dollars (600-2400 rupees) cheaper. I feel bad for Indian PC-gamers. :L

The first build I showed you would probably cost around 800 dollars (47k rupees) in India :(

If you really can't go over your budget too much, Torn Mind's build from flipkart.com (With the FX-4300 instead of the FX-4130) for around 35k rupees is a very good deal, and should run most games smoothly at decent graphics. One trick is to try to play on smaller resolutions, so that you could squeeze more FPS on high/max settings.
