Need A Gadget To Get Attention Of Deaf Child

My mother-in-law was asked by the teacher of her deaf, autistic, grandson if she could find something like a watch that vibrates when activated by a remote control. This would be to get his attention quickly if he happens to be doing something he shouldn't be, while physically away from his instructor.

Sounds like a great idea, but she hasn't found anything like that after looking for quite a while. I suggested a cell phone, but she said it would have to be quicker than that. I'm going to start searching, but I'm hoping somebody could get me a head start.

You might be able to find a walkie talkie that has a vibrate setting like a cell phone does, or maybe some type of local pager unit.

I'm already on it. Of course it would have to be hacked to use a vibrating device instead of a shock, but it makes all kinds of sense. Why re-invent the wheel?
