I installed a USB 2.0 frt panel hub, and I need something to fill in the gap between the 5.25 opening and the 3.5 device. I have an Addtronics 7896 case. Thank you for any ideas.
 
go get an Antec Easy USB device.

It mounts in a 5.25 bay but has a removable faceplate for you to mount your 3.5 device in.

it would appear to me that what you need is a floppy drive mount kit. used to put 3.5 in floppies in a 5.25 in bay. you can find on pricewatch for $4 + s/h but I'm betting you'll have an easier time getting from the ForTrade/ForSale forum with a WTB add as AT people love to sell their old case shtuff.
