We have a 800 Tbird, more than capable for running office apps here. We want to have a computer screen out to show the customers information, but we don't want to lose the computer in the back room.

Is it possible to get a monitor with a cable 20-25ft? I know there are interference issues, and not sure if its possible. I'd have to get a dual head card, probably radeon VE. Still thinking on the mouse/keyboard, but that shouldn't be hard. Probably switching to a infared, so we can move it back and forth, or a kvm type thing.

Just look around the internet for either KVM Extension cables, or monitor extension cables, I've seen them for as long as 100ft before. KVM cables would have mouse keyboard and video all together, prob the better idea.

You also might look into a monitor that has BNC cables on it. BNC's main advantage is that it can run a LOT farther than standard monitor cable. However, my friend ran into a problem where his BNC-connected monitor wouldn't detect in Windows because the monitor can't talk back to the computer through the BNC cables.. I heard something about some BNC monitors that have USB connectors as well... Dunno, though.

ok, I've got my boss to agree with a kvm thingy. Any ideas on what to go with? I figure I need a set of cables from the kvm to the comp, and from the kvm to the new work area. I guess both have to be male-female. The switches seem to vary dramatically in price, is there a reason? All I want is a switch to use 2 sets of monitors, mouse, keyboards and be able to switch them from one to another at different points in the day. Manual if fine, if its cheaper.
