Well in an ideal world you would completely reinstall Windows but if you can't Google for Driver Cleaner.

i just didn't want to do a full install if it actually went ok, which it did and this is a relatively new install anyway, ~6mos or so.

Why? Those drivers aren't doing anything besides taking up some disk space.

So? Do you really think having a few extra registry keys around is causing you problems?

shoot me already.....maybe it is because i feel guilty because i didn't do a fresh install 😀. i just like to have things cleaned up as much as possible.

im actually surprised your OS still worked after a mobo switch. I normally get lock ups and blue screens and always recommend doing a complete reinstall.

But things you can't even see and that have no appreciable effects?

Worst case a repair install should fix that, but supposedly you can have a pretty easy transition if you use sysprep before hand.

i know they are there and they don't need to be there

this time it was very easy, i just put the scsi card and hdd in the new machine and away it went, in the past i have had issues with bsods and also times when i have used sysrep and that didn't work. this was no sysrep or anything, luckily
