Hey there,

I find myself in need of an mp3 player. All I hear about these days are Zunes and iPods. My sister owns an iPod and I've toyed enough with it to know that I simply do NOT want any mp3 player that requires me to go through some annoying software to be able to load my music on it. Plus, I already own over 200 metal albums and I've got them ripped on one of my HDDs.

My needs are:

1) Drag'n'drop USB functionality.

2) High sound quality

3) Large storage capacity (16GB+)

4) Visual interface that lets me sort by artist/album/etc.

I'm not on a budget. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Meh, rockbox is great and all but if you want that stuff right out of the box... I'd say any Sansa mp3 player or a Cowon D2+. Sansas and Cowon have great SQ, both have simple drag and drop function, most have standard mini-usb connection, most have expandable memory via SD cards and also go up to 16gigs on board memory too.

Yah, I definitely want something that works right out of the box, and like I said, 16GBs is pretty much the minimum.

I already tried one of those terrible Sony Walkman ones. TERRIBLE sound quality.

Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
