Need a consistentaly fast d/l site

I just got a new ISP today and i think they suck hard, but I wanna make sure before I call tomorrow and complain. I've been fetting a ton of bad pings in games and just tried to download a novell clinet (the novell servers are usually fast) and got between 2-3kB/s down. Since I'm connecting at 56k I feel like I should be getting at least 4-5kB/s. Anyone know of any other consistently fast site to d/l from as a test? I'm thinking maybe a microsoft patch and something else. Btw: DSL reports puts my connection below a 33.6 connection

i don't think you need any more testing, you connection sucks... download.com has a test thing.

AOL was giving me 3.0-3.9 kB/s, the download.com thing rated my connection as a 30.1 connection. Think I should be complaining?

You can complain, but are you sure it's the ISP and not the phone lines? I seriously doubt they will be able to do anything for you as it could be many things causing the slow connection.

www.quicktime.com is a fast dl site. I always get over 100k/sec from there

Its not that I expect them to do anything, its just today is my first day with their service, I'll just call and say that I think it sucks and I'm not paying a dime to them

I'm positive I"m getting more packetloss than my last ISP and for instance right now I'm downloading the quicktime installer, its akamai-zed and I'm getting 2kB/s? Seems crappy to me, I think tomorrow I'll try for a new isp...maybe earthlink, thats about all thats left

hey... i used to get 300 k/s on each download while doing multiple ones from microsoft. Great for downloading all my service paces and updates at once!!!! MuHAHAHAAHAH. Sorry to brag guys. ... but I now have a 56 suck modem ... only 2 more weeks though..... heheh
