~~~Need a cheap but good sounding home theater system~~~
EXman
Lifer
Need a DVD/AM/FM Tuner/ Amp (maybe a VHS too) all in one with speakers that are very small and clear. Seen some JVC, Samsungand Panasonic want to spend $200 to $375 (I barely use the thing anymore so computer stuff takes more my $.) Space is very limited limited. Intown retail stores stuff stinks so far. I know these suck But I do not need it very oftern and need some more space!
Anyone Use a good website? I can google all I want but I want your own experience not some internet nobodies! 😀
My wife doesn't like my big ole system and I told her "they are not Curtains!" bad move... anyways the kids play with them so I need something I can put up off the ground I have many match box cars shoved in the parts of my Sub box ports!!!!
A small sub system I can put On top of a large piece of furniture would be great on some foam rubber or something. Bose to pricey and I do not like their sound anyhow.
p.s. i just got the cheapest sonystyle home theater system. haven't installed it yet, but looks nice. it was $200.
You'd be best served with a Panasonic HTIB w/ DVD Player.
:thumbsup: I got Panasonic SC HT 05 from BestBuy about 6months ago. Its been great for 250bucks I spent on it. The sub is pretty heavy and all the satellite are 2-way. Doesn't have a DVD/VCR player though.
How about Onkyo HTS570 for $270 + any DVD/VCR combo you can find for cheap.
$400 Onkyo set if you're willing to spend a little more, no DVD player though
Or how about this for $337 shipped + whatever DVD player you can find
Alternative: refurbished denon receiver from ecost = $129 + Fluance AV-HTB = $200
I'm not sure what shipping on that is... + cheapest DVD player you can find... doesn't include sub though. (Good cheap sub = dayton 10" from parts express for $125)
alternative speakers to go with the denon: dayton 5.1 system = $149
EDIT: whoops, forgot about the small speaker requirement for a while there...
I was refering to what tami said. 😀
Oh, I forgot... if you can find this wharfedale set at a compusa in stock near you, that's what you want. These are $500+ speakers and it looks like compusa is trying to get rid of their stock (and they're doing a good job too).
Just add a receiver and dvd player and you're ready to rock.
If you want to keep looking for some stuff, htib.com has some info on what's available by different companies.
Even better, AVSforum has a HTIB area with lots of opinions of systems for different budgets and personal reviews.
I never bought a HTIB before, I went straight from Logitech z-560s to what I have now so I don't have a lot of first hand knowledge of this stuff. I've heard the fluance set, but I've only heard other sets briefly in Circuit City and the like. Since I've started looking into this kind of stuff, I've thought that onkyo is a good start. They make nice receivers for the money, nice enough that if you get a $400 HITB set from them, you have a receiver that's nice enough that you could even get nicer speakers later and not need to upgrade the receiver if you don't want to.
Am I cheesehead?
It's an Infocus 4805.
New DLP chip (darkchip II), faster color wheel, 16:9, EDTV vs. 800x600, better contrast, etc.
It's pretty much the X1 (4800) updated to do HT duty vs. business
