Well sadly I am ate up with the upgrade bug. I go thought many computer parts a year. My last and current rig have been SFF, but I am about to change that and move back to a tower rig. However I have been looking through cases for the past week and none of them have jumped out at me. So if you don't mind, tell me one that you are currently loving. Cost isn't much factor, but nothing too over the top. In the past I have owned; Lian-li's. coolerMaster's, Antec's, and others. I tend to like Al cases and a slide out motherboard tray is a nice extra. Other than that it just needs to be Pimp. And not to much more than 200.

I like my TT Tsunami, but it does not have a removable mobo tray. Lotta room and GREAT cooling potential. All aluminum as well 🙂 100$
 
When I look at cases, I don't really care what they look like as long as the chassis mounts the PSU above the motherboard, not directly over it or covering it. I also like case fans. I don't really care if it's loud because I've got 500W drowning out the case fans :laugh:
 
I care more about quiet than bling, so I use an Antec Sonata for my desktop, and an Antec SLK3700AMB for my lossless FLAC music server.

Both are great cases, with the SLK3700 maybe a little better if you want to use a lot of hard drives (4 in my music server) and plan to replace the power supply (I put in a Zalman 400watt). The 350watt supply in the SLK is actually pretty good and not too loud, it's just a little noisier than the Sonata's 380watt PSU.

PS there was a case poll / thread here a couple of weeks ago, an Advanced Search should turn it up.
 
I actually just ordered a Tsunami. It looks good without being too flashy and it's not twice as bright as my monitor. If you want the removable tray and like the looks of the Tsunami, check out the CoolerMaster WaveMaster. It looks similar, but is not exactly the same.

I have the Tsunami and i'm loving it. Couldn't have ordered a better case. Not to flashy, but the leds on the front and the 1 led fan give it a great effect. Its not that loud. Lots of room to do whatever you need inside the case. Great cooling, a must have!

This is one of the one's I am leaning towards. I like the black one with the side window. Linky. I am also liking the Chenbro Gaming Bomb II that Anandtech reviewed a few weeks back, but I haven't found it for sell yet. I guess I don't much care for a flashy case, but rather a clean well built case. To me style is more pimp than flash, but that is just my opinion, that?s why there are so many choices!


And as far as the sound of the case, I like a louder case as well. It makes me feel like it is getting cooled very well. An to drown the noise I have a set of z-680s 😀

I have the SB75G2 now, but it is time to move on. the Shuttle will be moved into the living room for HTPC duties.

These cases do look oh so sweet but doesnt the mesh defeat the purpose of filtering out contaminants (dust, hair) into your pc? THought I would ask.

I have an Antec SLK3700BQE-awesome case!!!! The way the hard drives mount is amazing, cooling is great, quiet 120mm fan in front and back. Nothing bad to say about this case except for a somewhat flimsy door, but its usually closed.
 
I'm about to buy this case. I've been looking at cases for a month and a half, and this is the best functionality:cost ratio. It's the performance of Lian-Li without the price. Specs are: 2.0mm aluminum, removable motherboard tray, all screws are thumbscrews, rails for optical drives, anti-shock rubber mount absorbers for stability and sound in HDD bay, USB/Firewire front wires are nicely meshed and the case wires have a connector to unplug instead of having to detach each LED from motherboard when you remove it, comes with three fans, two intake one exhaust with a filter on the front two that can be cleaned. Only thing I'd like to see is a blowhole, but I'm going to check the temps as it is, and then later might add one myself if it's needed. But I can get it for $100 shipped, instead of $190 for a Lian-Li.
 
I love my ThermalTake Tsunami Dream Case. I have the one withOUT the window, as I like a sleek look. It only takes a flip of the wrist to look inside it. I dont like alot of bling on my comp, but if you do, they make one with a window ect that has a blue-led fan on the panel.

Cools great, has plenty of room (even holds a 500w PSU np), has the option of connecting firewire, usb, and sound devices to the top of your comp (great if you have yours down to the side instead of on top of your desk). Has 2 x 120mm fans that are fairly quiet with a nice easy to clean filter in front of the intake fan.

It has VERY easy to remove HD and Bay cages as well as 5.25" drive guides that make installing and removing devices incredibly easy. There aren't even screws to hold the top of your PCI/AGP cards, you just install, and flip down the clip that holds it in place.

Completely tool-less design with one exception: HD's need to be installed with a screwdriver. They use rubber washers which is GREAT as it makes things alot quieter, and protects the drives better, but that means you need some extra torque to really get the thumb-screws all the way down.

You can also lock the frong of the case, as well as the side panel (which also has an optional security alarm you can attatch to your mobo if you hit up a lan party and want to know if you got any jabroni's trying to tap into your case while you grab your 17th mtn. dew).

Still my one and only, Antec SX-830 w/ True480. Only case I've used for custom builts for customers, Chieftec/Antec SX-1030.
 
I like my Aspire Turbo Case X-Alien. I have the green one. Lots of room, removable tray, 420 PS included, and just overall a very nice design. It's pretty cheap too.
