Here is my hardware... What ATX case do you experts recomend?

Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 Processor 3.0 GHz with Hyper-Threading Technology and an 800 MHz FSB
Intel D865GBF Motherboard
Microsoft* Windows* XP Home
Kingston Hyper X DDR400 2 512MB sticks
ATI 9800 PRO 128MB Video Card
250GB WD 8mb Cache HD
120GB WD 8mb Cache HD
Lite on 52x CDRW
LG 52x CDROM DRIVE
SB Aud 2 Sound card

As you can see I am concerned about cooling...I have not bought a new case in a few years...

Any idea?

The Athenatech 747 or Evercase 4252 series aren't half bad for low bucks.

Case considerations include price, design, cooling, ease of accessibility of components.

I don't go for real flashy design, yet I want ease of accessibility so I like Lian-Lialuminum cases.

The Raidmax Scorpio is not a bad case but you can get it at www.excaliberpc.com for $70. shipped. You will pay thru the nose for shipping at compgeeks and the price is already $70.

Thermaltake Xaser III V200A

This is the case I got with pretty much the same parts, except with a athlon 2500+ @ 2.2ghz and it's awesome. The 7 fans it comes with are all incredibly silent, and if you hook up the hardcano intelligently, you can have half the fans off most of the time (as long as room temps aren't really hot) making it even more quiet.

If you can afford it, get the Antec AMG1080 Plus. I have it and have not one single regret, but it is a bit on the pricey side.

DO NOT GET AHANIX. DO NOT GET AHANIX. DO NOT GET AHANIX.

There, you've been warned.

That said, Chieftec, Antec, Lian-Li if you've got some cash money.

DO NOT GET AHANIX. DO NOT GET AHANIX. DO NOT GET AHANIX.

Care to explain why? My friend has one, it looks pretty good, i dont know about the quality of construction or anything like that though. He wrote a review for it and judging from a few pics and descriptions, i didn't get that bad of an impression from it.

Of course its no Antec or Chieftec or Lian Li but hey they dont look too bad for their price.

You are going to want a beefy power supply. So, either get the Antec 1080, which already has an Antec "True" 430 power supply, or else get any decent case (I just bought an all-acrylic case, but I think the Antec PlusView and also the X-Dreamer cases are nice) and then add an Antec "True" power supply (430W or above) or a Fortron or Enermax power supply (probably 450W or above).

Get an Antec Sonata with the optional 120 mm front fan. Plug both fans into the PS connector labeled "fan". Use a Zalman 7000 and set the rpm to 1800.

You'll have a case that's quiet, cool, and not as "butt ugly" as the others mentioned in this thread.

Shop around and you can probably get one for $70-80 AR, PM, and coupon.

I think I am going to go with the following: Any disagreements... Thanks for all the advice guys...Havn't needed to buy a new case for some time

LIAN LI PC-65 ALUMINUM MID TOWER NO POWER SUPPLY 4x5.25" 2x3.5" 1x3.5"(hidden) W/ FRONT USB PORT & SEE THROUGH SIDE WINDOW (NO EXTRA FAN; ANTEC TRUE 430W)

Price $189.00

I think it comes with 4 fans already installed. Should I buy any others and where should I put them?
