I've got a Thermaltake Core V1 case and the front 200mm fan is loud. I've got a Maximus VI Impact motherboard and can't find a way to lower the speed so its somewhat silent. I may need a alternative fan so can someone recommend a silent fan. Its for a budget build so don't want to spend too much.

I have Core V21 which (I think) uses the same 200mm fan, and my Asus Z170M Plus was able to lower the min. speed from somewhere around 600-700 RPM to 360 RPM by running the Q-fan optimization in BIOS.

Not sure if your board has that or if it's a new feature, but generally speaking Asus has very good fan control. Set chassis Q-Fan control to manual and set the Chassis Fan Duty Cycle to minimum (for both min and max). That's in Monitor Menu -> Fan Speed Control.

If that doesn't work, you can buy a voltage cable and manually set the speed to 5V down from 12V. E.g. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...m_re=fan_speed_adapter-_-12-311-003-_-Product
