I've just come into a car loan that'll go as high as $6000.. if anyone has any suggestions on a newer style ('90+) car that is around midsize (definitely don't want a dinky car), sunroof option is absolutely a prerequisite, preferably sporty (i.e. looks real nice and modern would help) and I'd prefer Japanese or European but would consider American of course just nothing ugly.. looks are definitely high on my priority list.. Experience with the car you suggest would also be very helpful because I want a moderately reliable car too..

Right now my few picks are:

'92+ Nissan Altima or Maxima or 240SX
'92+ Eagle Talon TSI
'90+ Mitsubishi Diamante
'92+ Toyota Camry
'90+ Audi 90 Quattro
'92+ Honda Accord

I am still woefully in need of some suggestions to check out so feel free to help out :)

You could get a 90 - 93 mustang 5.0 for that price. Or a 94-95 Mustang V6, but they're pretty slow.

I don't know a lot about Japanese cars.

rims are pretty expensive considering you only have $6K to spend on a car, and a set of nice rims could run as high as 1500-200. I would suggest if at possible using whatever money you intend to spend on rims, and add that to the price you are looking for the vechicle. And buy what you want.

I don't exactly have that money on me.. it's just something I would do later to the car.. I really only can go $6000 but I have about $800 on me past the down payment that I could use for a slightly better car but I planned to use the $800 as a buffer in my bank account for other expenses related to the car..

Well, I turned in my 95 Nissan Sentra with 167000 miles on it a year and a half ago, and I just saw it being driven by someone else.... Seems like a good, reliable option.

I don't know.. my friend's '97 Sentra made me feel a little claustrophobic in the drivers seat.. but it's still a good option.. I'll add it to the list to check out..

I would check out the mazda protege. Well built cars, bigger than sentrs/corolla, and can be had for cheap. Take a look and see.
