Need a car. Got around 3k - 4k, maybe more. Any suggestions?

I'm partial to imports. Had a 93' Corolla before this. That was brand new. Can't afford a brand new one this time. Thinking something along the lines of a Honda, Toyota or a Acura. Any suggestions? I'm in Hawaii, my zip is 96819. Thanks!

Reason for needing another car. Friend totaled my other one. Search for it in the archive.

Man, get a 1991 Honda CRX Si. You can pick one up for around 3K. Moon roof, 5 speed and still cool loking after all these years.

I wouldn't mind a CRX. Couldn't find one though. Couldn't even find a Civic hatch. Hard to find stuff when you need it. When I didn't need a car had like choke of em for sale. Now, no more...

I'm sure you know Oahu better than I do, but.....
Make sure you check Kaneohe as well as Honolulu. (Go Country if you have the time - Likelike is bad during rush hours, as you surely know!)
If your credit is pretty good, avoid the lots just outside the military sites(like along 99).

And unless you are going for shave ice at Matsumoto(sp?) there probably aren't a lot of deals in Haleiwa!

1986 Volkswagen Golf GTI(You will love me for recommending this if you buy this car)
1991 Volkswagen Passat Wagon(YEA! A PASSAT!)
1988 Honda Accord
1980 BMW 320i(It's the key's that make it all worthwhile. You can tell chicks you own a BMW)
1990 Nissan Maxima SE
1989 Toyota Camry
1989 Nissan 240SX(Nice car)

LMAO @ SuperGroove.

Thanks for the suggestions but I'm looking at either a 92' Integ or a 92'+ Civic. Maybe a 90-91 Toyota Celica. But can't find one. I'm sure the guy with the BMW keys is getting chicks. But I'm perfectly happy with my g/f. She's good like that! 😉

I've said it before and I'll say it again (you guys are prolly gettin sick of me talking about these cars), but the turbo Mopars of the late 80s-early 90s has the best performance for the money. You can find an assload of 150-175HP Dodges/Chryslers from around then that you can grab for under 4k. They're reliable, very easy to work on and fast. Consider it if you think they're right for you - you won't regret it

I bought a 1991 Toyota Camry for 6k. It was BY FAR the best car I have ever had(I've gone thru 5). I bought it with almost 100k miles.

Older Accords and Camry's may look "old," but they are the best 😉
