Got a few here.

Organizing these with zip ties. Lots of old cables in here, some really long parallel cables, midi cables, long lengths of RJ11, mice, you name it. I've got another smaller box as well AND there are multiple plastic drawers we have full of other stuff, old devices and the like. Wonder if there is any use to all this? Maybe if I hook them all together they will become sentient, skynet? :hmm:

These collections are pathetic. You guys must be married.

I'm married too. I used to have several totes full of cables. I've cut those down a fair amount to only ones I actually need. My brother got most of my unneeded ones.

Lol most of this shit is my fathers actually. He's an early adopter gadget freak who loves to pick up any cool new toy that catches his eye. Like I said we have like 4 or 5 more trays of stuff, this is just the largest single box. All together there's probably twice this in terms of cables alone. And then we have the old cell phones, PDAs, cameras and shit. He's sort of border line hoarder. NOTHING like what you would see on TV or define medially as a "hoarder" but yeah he doesn't like throwing out stuff.
 
I cleared out a huge percentage of my stuff when i moved a few months ago - and I still have lots more like that that i haven't unpacked yet. Ran out of time to organize and just threw stuff randomly in boxes.

No pix because I still haven't located my camera, which is in one of the aforementioned boxes.

And no, you won't ever need those mice.

On the table is a Wilesco miniature steam engine.

And yes...you're seeing the best computer speaker system I've ever owned. Unfortunately, I'm missing one of the surround speakers. If you're still interested, and I can find everything else, it's yours for shipping costs.

Thing was that it was a pain to have it set up and I never had the space for it. Then the neighbors would complain if I turned it up 🙁 So I moved to a Klipsh Promedia 2.1 setup which IMHO actually sound better! But again the neighbours complained :'( And trust me I rarely tuned it up loud, they just have this really annoying entitled bitchy daughter. So I'm now just using $50 Sennheiser headphones. Plan to get a really good pair of headphones one day.

Yes I do...I need a 50 foot long 14/3 extension cord.

Damned Milwaukee circular saw is 15 amps...my old 16/3 is just not quite enough...


(I dug through my ancient extension cords and found a 25 foot 14/3...it's at least 30 years old...has the same size prongs on the plug...and the ground prong is cut off...but it works...) 🙄

You mean the guy who created the video is pretentious? Yeah I suppose he is. 😀 got to admit though that wiring job is indeed pretty lol worthy.
 
One great use for useless cables is fashioning them into a noose to kill yourself with eventually.

I agree that the wiring job would make any journeyman wireman jealous as hell...but the guy's presentation just sucks.
