That looks like about the same amount of what I have in physical books, gotten a Kindle about a year ago, still reading physical books, but the best part is that I no longer need to pack 6 books in my trunk when I go on vacation. Still buys 10 new ones though :)

Yes the room has awesome acoustics for my HT sound system! :D Well when my annoying neighbour's daughter doesn't call to complain when I turn it up at like, even, 6PM :(

Oh did I forget to mention about 50% of the shelves are double faced? So there's actually 50% more book than you actually seen even in this pic.

I love the tv right in the middle. The missing final touch to a book collection!

wat? I'm running Paradigm Cinema CT speakers here. Similar to these:

The left and right are mounted at the corners where the bookshelves meet. The centre is above the TV. These ARE good speakers! LOVE the sound they produce. Some of the better in their price range (~$1000 for all 5.1). Sure I could get better by spending more but I don't have that kind of $$.

I like paradigm just fine, but I'm not too fond of compact/lifestyle systems unless they are super cheap :D For 1k I would have purchased some other speakers. Of course, if you're happy with them, then that's all that really matters :)

Fair enough. :p It could also be that the books really help these here. It creates a real dead acoustic space which is great!

There is something to be said for a book. It does not die whith your hard drive or computer. I sometimes read books in bed. What I really hate are those stupid textbooks they make you purchase for college. Most of them are just junk that were not worth printing. I do Family History Research and I would rather have my records on paper if I can get them. Computers are too easy to kill. Computers make nice research tools, and can be used to organize and search your research, but without a good backup, you have nothing!
