Need a board with AGP slot for Intel D820 dual core processor.

Hello all,
I have DDR1 and the 6800GT AGP. I am wondering if there is a board that will support the dual core Intel D820 chip that will allow me to save money, overclock the chip, and retain the RAM and video card that I have?
Thanks.

VIA should have their PT890 Pro versión out soon. Look for a motherboard with this chipset.

This chipset has the advantage that it can use DDR, DDR II, PCIe, and AGP straight out from the box.

Thanks for a great answer. I shall wait. I wonder how stable and overclockable it will be?

Via chipsets are not known for great overclocking.

But, you can get good prices on eBay for your 6800 GT. That way, you can choose a motherboard with PCI-E and a PCI-E video card.

On the Intel side of things, Pentium chipsets perform very well; most of them don't even use dual channel memory, yet stay competitive with the Intel chipsets on range.

Overclocking wise, it really matters on the brand you get. The trick of overclocking nowadays are the quality components on the motherboards, hence brands like ABIT, DFI, ASUS and MSI make out so well.

The last VIA chipset for P4 I had could overclock a 3.0E to 3.4 with no problems at all.

There is a Motherboard & Barebones Selector Guide on the Intel Website. They list 27 motherboards for the D820.
