Okay, so I've been doing some Temp work for a little over 6 months now at a company close where I live. The work I do is about 2/3rd's Help Desk, and 1/3rd Network Admin in a Windows domain. I have about 3+ years experience working in a Windows Domain/Networking environment. I am a Microsoft Certified Professional, and CompTIA Network+ Certified

When I started, I wasn't getting paid much, but I wanted to get working right away so it wasn't that big a deal. Right now, I probably make about $15k LESS per year as a temp working hourly. What I want to do is be hired on full time, and just make what I'm worth. Nothing extravagant.

How do I approach my boss about this? Do I just ask casually, ask for a meeting, etc??

Suggestions welcome. Thanks!!

Is that permitted? I know of some companies that do not hire their temp workers, because the temp contracts stipulate that they cannot.

It really doesnt matter. If the company says that they want to hire you on directly, then the temp company will do it. They dont want to piss off one of their customers right? The thing is that it doesnt really help the company to do this. They are paying the same for you either way. Only difference is that your temp company is taking a big chunk of it right now. You can mention to your boss that the temp company is not paying you very well and the boss can tell them to give you a raise. Then it is negotiation between the temp agency and the company as to whether the raise comes out of the temp agencies profit or the company has to pay more for you.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I work at the temp company, for the temp company, internally. So any of the people who would make the yea/nay decision on permanetly hiring me, I see everyday.

yep, the easiest way is to schedule ameeting with your hiring manager and explain what your thinking, ask him what you need to do to be considered for a full time position rather then a temp position. let it go from there
