Need a bit of advice

My cousin wants to ditch his old palm treo and get my co-workers blackberry curve 8330. Problem is he is on verizon and she is on sprint. Well, is that a problem? Will he be able to add the blackberry to his verizon service? Thanks in advance for any help.

Can't always use a Sprint device on Verizon. The Sprint version could be an 8350, not an 8330. If it is it won't work.

xx10 = GSM w/GPS
xx20 = GSM w/WiFi
xx30 = CDMA(Verizon)
xx50 = iDEN (Sprint Nextel)

Amazing coincidence.
I just got the Curve 8320 for my mommy. Thats the one that works on T-mobile. It has no 3G but it does have Wifi.
Accidentally ordered the 8310, which is the one without Wifi. Changed the order and all was good.

I really wish they would have made their naming system a little clearer. I wonder how many folks have ordered a Curve and found out they got an item they cant use.

it's doable, but may me more work than its worth. You will have to get some programming software (it was similar to qpst, but wasnt qpst, qxpt maybe?) and edit data settings to make it work with verizon (if you can even get them to add the ESN, I dont think they are allowing non-verizon phones yet). Another hurdle is getting the MSL (master subsity lock) code from Sprint (you wont, they wont provide it). I know for WM there is a program that can pull the MSL off of the phone, not sure if anything similar is related for BB. He also needs to remember that a blackberry plan IS REQUIRED for any Blackberry, so add another $30/month to the bill.
