I was in a creative mood and decided to replaced the boring green LED in my Asus 50X CD-ROM drive only to find out that I had replaced the 3V LED with a 6V one. I thought I had done it wrong until I saw that it was on, but very very dim. :p

Anyone know where I can buy one that runs brightly at the lower voltage?

4V drop, but should be ok. MPJA is a great online retailer for electronics. Check out their heatsink and fan collection.

Not a lot of detail, but its another choice.

Both of the RS stores I went to had them... you can also have them ship it in from another store... free shipping ;)

Yeah, nice sig, its 12 lines long :disgust:
