I can go to £130 but really want to keep this as cheap as possible, my XFX 550w now ticks with two cards in but not with one so it looks like I need to get some more power in, plus I can future proof for another higher end crossfire setup :)

So far I like the look of the XFX pro series 850w and the Corsair RM850, any others you guys like? If I could get something more higher quality but say 800w I would be open to that too.

No, Gold efficiency is not worth that much. You'll save only a small part of that in electricity costs during the PSU's usable lifetime.

You don't need 850W for 7850 crossfire. 650W is fine, like this Seasonic M12II 650W £82.

I'm doubtful about it being worth it to you to buy an overkill unit "just in case" you crossfire higher end cards. Get a suitable unit now, and if by some odd turn of events you decide to crossfire dual high end cards, you will have to pay so much for them anyway that it will be no problem to upgrade your unit and sell the old one away or keep it as a backup.

I'm just waiting for 20nm, then I'm hoping to see if 1440p eyefinity is doable on £500 worth of card, if it is then I will certainly do it, considering 3x HD 7970 could do it I think it is quite possible.

I also want to go higher than 650w as I want to make sure I don't have the same problem again, so I might as well spend an extra 30% and get a 850w.

Thanks for pointing the efficiency out, I don't even pay the bill but thought I would try and be thoughtful of my parents and the environment!

I like my RM850.

It's very quiet and seems to handle my 4930k and two GTX760 video cards well.
