no offense to the op, but not upgrading a computer for 3 years doesn't make him a serious gamer...hell a 6600gt with a 3200 would be nice and save some $$$$ too.

i seen nechmarks where the 3800 preforms pretty close to the fx :p
a 6600gt will be adequate for a year or so :)

do yourself a favor and at least check out monarchs pre-assembled, pre-tested combos. not only does it lessen the potential for getting a bad mobo that might cause you all sorts of headaches but you get some free games that you may not have.

you can get a 3000+ on a socket 939 for well under 300.
