necessary to turn speakers off?

I just picked up my klipsch promedia 2.1's and the on/off button is on the back of the subwoofer. Is it okay to leave them on all the time, such as when the computer is off and i'm sleeping.
 
I never touch my Logitech Z-2300s and the switch behind the subwoofer. I have an additional on/off button on the volume knob which is attached by cord. I never even turn any of them off. If I feel like conserving power, I'll turn the power off from the volume knob, but never the one behind the subwoofer (except when I'm transporting the speakers)
 
My mom has those speakers, and I don't think she's turned them off in the five or so years she's had them, and they work fine.
 
i thought the type of amp klipsch uses basically means you don't have to turn it off since it doesn't really draw anything when idle unlike certain logitech ones that stay warm.
 
Those speakers were so great when I bought them 5 years ago. My brother still uses them, albeit the subwoofer connection has become partially shotty.
edit: I never left them on.
 
i'm using the 4.1s, and the subwoofer heatsinks stay warm even when the speakers have been disengaged, so they are definitely drawing alot of power. Best to turn them of.
 
My Philips speakers draw 6w when "off" (standby) and 13w when on and idle, according to my kill-a-watt thingy. (5.1 rated for 100w total)
 
I've had them for about 6 months and never turn them off. But then again I dont turn my computer off either...
