Anybody know the quality of this at 16x12? Just because it can do it at 75Hz doesn't mean it can do it well. I remember last time I was looking for a monitor to run at 16x12 all the time I went through 5 different monitors before I finally found one that was tolerable. Too often the colors don't line up properly all over the screen (forget the technical term for that) which causes small text to look fuzzy instead of crisp.

CRT != :thumbsdown:

I got a 17" Envision flat screen CRT from Staples for under $70AR a while back and it's been great. Not long ago a 19" KDS was going for the same price or less AR at OD. I missed out on that deal, but am keeping my eyes open for something comparable so I can dual monitor.

If you got the space, or are willing to make the space in order to save $, CRT's are still a good option.

LCDs are coming down in price, so I only recommend well-under-$100 CRT deals.
The 21"/22" CRTs are way too expensive now and you can get an LCD with similar screen size for the same price or less.

I've never had a problem with those lines on my old Dell P991 (FD Trinitron). Unless you're using a white document and FOCUS on the lines, you barely notice them.

LCD's are better than CRT's but show me a 19" LCD for $93

I have this monitor and have used it for a couple of years. It is a nice monitor.
No complaints.
But it is not a flat screen.
For a decent 19" crt $93 shipped is a good deal.
I am currently switching to lcd's on all my (7) systems. I use lcd's on my main 2 systems, and I think the crt's are sharper by a little bit, but I like the freed up desk space.
I will never buy another crt.

Edit: I forgot to post and just hit the reply button.

Anyway, I just want to say that I got in on this deal last time and I am using this monitor right now as I type. For the money it beats the heck out of the Office Depot 19" CRT deal they have. I will take an NEC anyday over KDS. Especially when they are of similar price.

Bottom line: I'm buying another one. 8)
