There selling for $299 used, flat screen with 1920 x 1440 @75hz, .25 dot pitch, still have warranty on them.

The FE series is $399 new though, not sure the difference between FE and FP.

Anybody using NEC models ??

Appr. 2 years ago I got mine for $750 :(
Paired with Matrox it rocks. Bright and crisp picture.

Provided the monitor is functional ;) you can't go wrong with this model.

AFAIK FP stands for "professional" series, while FE means "economy" or "value" line.

Cheers, reminder

There's a 1 year factory waranty on them and also a 90 day waranty from the store. I could also buy a one year waranty from the store for $25 per year. They say if there is a problem they will fix it or replace it. Otherwise the factory waranty means they will ship it to NEC to get fixed if a problem arises.

All that said the monitor was damn nice, they have about 8 of them there and I messed around with one to check out what the picture was like. 1920 by 1440 is pretty excessive even on a 19" but it's nice to know it's there. Probably run it at 1280 by 1024 with a high refresh rate.

BTW if you're fond of larger resolutions don't forget that FP950 is also able to display in 2048x1536x32x60Hz... And not too bad...

NEC FP950 has a $30 mail-in rebate going on now. Of course this is only for new monitors.
Go to NEC's site. On Pricewatch, the lowest is $374, so minus the rebate = $344 + ship. But I believe the Gateway store has free shipping on this monitor. The dot pitch on the FP950 is a variable .25-.27 in the corners. Still it looks like a nice monitor. I've been eyeing the NEC FP955 which is a new model with .24, and built-in USB hub for around $450. I wish it would come down in price a little more.

I should pick one of those up for that price.....

Bought NEC 19" FE950 from Staples for $325 +tax in Feb. They had another sale a few months ago too. "P" is a step up. Mine is a step up from my 1991 Iyama 17" monitor. You might want to visit a B&M store to compare display etc.

I bought my FP950 a few months ago as a new "re-certified" monitor. It was a posted "Hot Deal" for $299 from TigerDirect. All I can say is, that it is one terrific monitor. Color, geometry, focus and text quality are all excellent.
