I tried to call Staples to PM a NEC FE950 monitor with pagecomputer.com which they sell it for $397 and the shipping fee is $30. In staples, they sell it for $450. They said that the monitor after PM is $427. The final price @ staples after PM and tax is $462, but the final price @ pagecomputer.com is $427 (shipped & no tax). I argued with the representative and explained to him what I calculated. But he didnt allow the PM @ $397. Then what is the purpose of PM, low price guarantee?

I'm using the FE950 right now. It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up. (Hope everyone got the Ferris Bueller's Day Off reference there...)

It is sharp, has excellent color, has loads of controls for tweaking the display, but it does have the infamous Triniton/Diamondtron "lines" from the support wires about 1/3rd of the way down from the top and 1/3rd of the way up from the bottom. I never thought I'd buy a monitor with those because they annoy the hell out of me, but I'm slowly getting used to it.

Just because you aren't charged sales tax online when you buy something doesn't mean you don't pay taxes on it. In most areas of Rhode Island , you will pay a local property tax the year you aquire it and something called a 'use tax'. If you do all the math and pay your taxes legally and anally, they are matching quite nicely with your price.

Yo, that's a okay monitor. I had it for about a week and a half. It just doesn't stand up to some of the higher end monitors. Like bex0rs said it must get b grade tubes or something cause no matter what I did the black text looked fuzzy on white backgrounds. I had a chance to compare it againest a Samsung 955DF (Highly Recommended) and a Mitsubushi 91 Plus (Another Recommendation). They both had sharper text quality. Maybe I'm too picky but, considering I paid over a 100 less for the Samsung I was a little disappointed. I got it thinking hey it has the same tube as the Mitsubushi and I love the picture on it. Boy was I a little disappointed. Hmmm I gotta look at the FP950 I do like NEC's controls more than Mitsubushi. But I got to hand it to Samsung there controls rock. Easy as pie to set it up.

Question: Is there big difference in the fe950+ model and the fe950 model? (besides the plus sign)

Heads up boys 'n girls, the new rebate is $100 off (SKU is 430679, making absolutely sure it's the same monitor), making this deal a bit sweeter.

$100 MIR can be found here, just make sure you hurry...expires on the 17th of Feb! "Mail-in rebate applies to select NEC Monitors purchased at Staples, Staples.com,and Staples Direct only." So, it's all good! Final price: $279.98 + tax

However, is the -30 off of 130 coupon still good? If so, could someone *please* either e-mail or PM me the details on this sucker? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Looks like the rebate is for the 950+ not the 950. Anyone know what the difference is?

Alright, try this link; if it doesn't work, go to the monitor's page, click on the $50 rebate, and you WILL see:

$100 MIR on Select NEC Monitors $100.00
19" MULTISYNC FE950

There are AlSO $100 rebates on the + model and the 17". Take a glance, it's there folks.

Can you pricematch the one at Onvia and then use the coupons?

Also, I never did PM before, so is it that you have to call? Then tell the CSR the coupon code?

And somebody please send me the stackable coupon code.

You can, but beware that Staples will add shipping onto that cost (was about $37 when I check my area code in NJ), so it'll be more than Staples' price anyway.

I am way late on this thread, but wanted to put my two cents in about the NEC over Viesonic statement many posts back. Viewsonic is one of the most consistantly high quality produced monitors available. 99% of the time, viewsonics will preform flawlessly and will have perfect geometry from the time you open the box. With other brands it's more of a crap shoot. The FE950 when properly configured is a great monitor. However, there is a chance that you will never be able to get it to look its best because the geometry will never be right. I don't know if they use b quality tubes in some of there models, but that would seem to make sense with the problems that seem to show up. Viewsonics on the other hand tend to be rock solid. I loved my pf775. I love my pf790. I returned 1 fe700 due to geometry problems. I figured I'd give them another shot and tried a fe950. Never could get it square. Both my viewsonics were perfect out of the box. I'm just tired of ppl ripping viewsonic. Makes no sense to me.
