When I try to burn a CD, the notice pops up saying "no burner detected" Is this a big problem? I know that it has burning capabilities... what do I need to do to fix this? Thanks.
If it helps, the porperties of the burner in "my computer" say it is only dvd and cd-rom capabilities.

I bought the NEC 3550a from newegg. Now when I check the properties, the drive is listed as the optiarc 7170a dvd cdrom drive.
what happens when i "uninstall" the drive. How do I reinstall it?
UPDATE: Well I did end up getting it to work. Thanks so much for your help guys.

Go to device manager and uninstall the controller that the drives are connected to. Right Click->Uninstall.
If you do a "Scan For New Hardware" you can reinstall, or upon reboot, Windows will detect "new devices".
