NEC 3500A Media Compatability

Does NEC have a list of supported / compatable media for this drive?
I can't find one on their site.

The newegg reviews for this drive indicate problems with some Ritek disks.

Also how does the book type setting for this drive work?
Information on this is next to imposible to find and emailing NEC proved fruitless.

This will be my first DVD-R/W and the only one I will be able to purchase.
Don't want to end up with a lemon that is picky about media and has to use hard to find or expensive media.

TIA

I have the drive, it is great...

haven't run into a media problem yet...

i have the nec3500a. writes to 8x fujifilm media at 16x with ease. only gripe is that when writing fujifilm 48x cdrs, it runs at 32x, imation cdrs are the same. i bought this drive over others because of the 48x cdr, but im still very happy with it

AT did a dvdr roundup. supposedly they used fujifilm 48x, but didnt mention writing at a speed of 32x.
