Can the S-video port be connected to a projector so I don't have to keep switching views from my Geforce 8800 GTS video card each time I want to watch a movie ? If so how do I get to have the same image that is on my lcd monitor onto my projector ? I use to be able to see both my desktop on my monitor and projector at the same time so it was a lot easier controling my media player when it was like that. Though this was with my crt monitor. My lcd won't let me do this. If I try my lcd goes to a horrible resolution that makes the image looks horrible and I can't make the resolution go to the native resolution if I keep my projector seeing what my pc monitor sees.

Hookup the S-Video out of your video card to the projector and don't use overlay for media playback.

You connect the S-video out of your video card to the projector..(the monitor is not involved)

Overlay is a method of media playback where only one display is supported. Actually they may have something called "theater mode" that supports >1 display, but I'm not sure. The easiest way is to just use the video mixing renderer, which is available in players like WMP ("high quality mode"), Media Player Classic, MPlayer-GUI ("directx"), Zoom Player, and VideoLAN Client.

Yes but my NEC 20WMGX2 has a s-video port on it. Why can't I use that instead of the back of my video card s-video port ? Its annoying having to go from lcd monitor to projector each time. I rather be able to have the same thing on both my lcd monitor and projector but it won't work at the lcd's native resolution only at like 1024x768 on both my lcd monitor and projector.

If this won't work what about using my spare VGA to VGA cable on my NEC 20WMGX2 lcd monitor to connect to my projector as a second like monitor ? That way its easier to switch to the projector by remote instead of my pc mouse. Can this be done ?

I tried it before but nothing happen. I tried even pressing PC2 or PC1 on the NEC 20WMGX2 remote and the only screen I could get is my original lcd monitor screen :(

The S-Video on the monitor is an input, not an output. Sorry but it's just not possible to have an exact clone at the exact same resolution. What you may be able to do is have a different desktop on each or span at the lowest common denominator.

I think there's something really fundamental you're missing here. You can't connect two inputs together, nothing will happen.
