NEC-1100 Drive problem?

I use pinnacle studio to do video editing. I have renered a project and wish to burn but while using pinnacle I get "cd burning failed during the burning step". WTF. I also have nero on my pc which I imagine could burn the file but the problem is I don't know what the file extension is. All I can find is a bump of .bup .vob, .cel, .map ect. Of which mean nothign to me.
