I am considering taking the CPU and Mobo I brought from Fry's back and getting something else.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Any recommendations or internet links for a Intel P4 2.4 CPU and Mobo Combo?

The only thing i have problems with Fry's return is the dam wait, Fountain Valley, CA one. If its under 30 Days, then just be firm and just explain its not compatible with your video card, current powersupply, ram you have etc....and nots working. Tell the customer service rep the salesperson said it would be, etc.. if you need a little white lie ;)

There are ton of threads on the right Northwood motherboard out there for you, seems the Asus one is people's choice.

15 days on CPU's and Memory. Almost everything else is 30 days. The one in my town (Wilsonville, Or.) has made a complete 180 in it's customer service. Before they used to try to find ways not to help you (Rigd replacement policies, Waiting for an hour while they "Tested" the product you wanted to exchange, Etc.). The last two times they bent over backwards to help me out. Best of luck,

I live right by the Sunnyvale Fry's (which is about 2 buildings away from AMD HQ) and I just returned an XP1700 that I blew and it went fine. At least at the Sunnyvale location, the returns are a lot better now than they used to be, so it was fairly quick.
