The R/C car article over at Dan's Data got me interested in R/C cars again. The 360 Modena made me drool. I kinda dropped out in '99, but I just ordered a Team Associated TC3 w/Honda Accord body to get me back into the swing of things. Was only $139 + S&H at Tower Hobbies and it is the best touring car on the market.

I currently have a Tamiya M02M based Alfa Romero Guilia Sprint and an extra HPI Honda Civic body (I'm currently trying to sell it over on FS/FT:p)

I had an extra battery and Trinity motor laying around (both new) so I had to get a chassis to put them in :)

Anyway, I'm looking to find the Tamiya 360 Modena body somewhere. Do you guys know of anyone that has it in stock?

I got into it from a friend, though I don't have a car myself. Might build one for my senior project, most likely an HPI. :)

NSF4, that car in the review IMHO, sucks. They use crappy parts. 27turn motor? WTF? Those remote control logo cars will go faster!! :p I had a 8turn motor on my old car. Make sure to get a good speed control.

I don't care about the chassis on the car. I just want the 360 Modena Challenge body and wing :)

In touring car racing, 27turn stock motors are what's used in competion...I don't see what's so bad about that. Granted, this Tamiya is a closed bell non-modifyable type, but 27 turn stock engines are the norm in touring car racing.

I used to be huge into R/C cars, let me think

My first car was a Tamiya Grasshopper which I eventually modified into the Hornet
My Second car was the Tamiya Lunchbox which I also modified
My third car was The Tamiya Astute which I heavily modified for racing however just couldnt keep up with the RC 10's
My Fourth car was a RC 10 team car, raced alot with that, modified the bag out of it and beat alot of people with that car, loved that
My fifth car was a Tamiya Tamtech Ferrari Testarossa, really small and really fun if your on a flat surface
My sixth car was another Tamiya Tamtech, this time it was a lamborghini, sure I could have just bought the lambo kit for my ferrari but some plae was having a blowout on them, the whole kit for 50 bucks, that included battery, remote, car and charger, a steal so I got two of them.

I want to go home and pick up at least my RC 10 team car and get back into racing (he he I am 24 and I still play with this stuff) but I would really like to have all my cars back, they just take up too much space and time and a few of them are with my father and I haven't talked to him in ages (long story).

Oh well maybe someday I will be able to get them back, it would be fun

I also used to be into RC planes and Line control planes, model trains and model kits, it is what all started my computer addicition.

Just saw the movie the Dead Pool and that is what got me interested again, loved the RC 10 in that movie, also the chase scene with it was cool.

I have to find a way to get them back :)

How much would it cost to get a fairly decent (more on the cheaper side ;)) gas car together?
I don't wanna have to stop every 20 minutes to change the batts ;)
Something that can go still push at least 25mph....

I was thinking of getting one with a pickup truck kinda body, slam it down nice and low, paint it deep gloss black (piano gloss black almost), and put some fat tires on it :D

been out of it for a while but if you go used for the gas car you would be looking at like 200 for everything and that would be on the cheap side, new your looking at 450-500, they are expensive, heck the electric ones are expensive, my RC 10 team when I bought it and after I did all of the mods was like $800 and that was just for the car, not to mention the batterys and chargers and whatever else.

Well, obviously I'm not lookin to spend that much :D
I know there's a track/group about 20km's from where I live....are all the cars divided by categories like gas/2wd/*** ?

I was thinkin gas/RWD to start off with...
Pretty low on the performance scale, but all I want it is to burnout decently and hit at least 20-25mph :)

I think that Traxxs makes some decent Ready To Race 2WD R/C gas cars/trucks for a reasonable price.
