**Please, no gay/bi jokes**

Anyway, I've always been a fan of his music. Rocket Man is most likely my favorite of his work.

Eh...he's a talent no doubt but his stuff just doesn't appeal to me.

He's got some good songs. Can't say I listen to him frequently though.

This isn't a joke - that guy is creepy... in fact, almost all british people are. Except for hot chicks.

I like his music in general. I have not purchased any of his albums, but I enjoy his music when I hear it. :)

Mona Lisa's and Madhatters (doubt this is the correct song title)
Tiny Dancer
Are good songs

Elton John kicks ass. His songs have some of the best melodies ever written in a rock song. His voice is pretty good too.

I think my favorite is Funeral For a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding.

If you're a fan, you need to "find" ;) a duet with him and Shania Twain, doing "You're Still the One" and "Something About the Way You Look Tonight". I found it the other day, and it's simply awesome.

Elton John's early 70's stuff kicks ass. Madman Across the Water is one of my favorite albums. His recent stuff sucks so bad it's not funny.

Definitely. Can you beat the simplicity of "Your Song" or the cryptic emotion of "Someone Saved My Life Tonight"?

Definitely a fan, not so much of the newer (last 10 years) stuff tho...

Yellow Brick Road and Don't Shoot Me, I'm only the Piano Player are some of my fave albums, but there's lotsa other singles that are great :D

I hope to get to one of his shows before one of us dies.

I preferred his early stuff, but you can count me as a fan. It sucked that he had to sell his car collection to raise cash a few months back. He really must of pissed his money away.

All other views aside, I am a fan of his artistry. He is a great artist, and has appealed to multigenerations. He's quite talented and also very humanitarian, which is a rare trait in a recording artist these days. :)

If you don't like him, or hate him because he's gay, or don't have a comment, STFU and get out of the thread.

That being said, I love Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding and his appearance in Tommy. One of my parents' friends had a Pinball Wizard pinball machine with Elton John on it. I would love to get a hold of that!

I like his old music. Too bad he can't hit any of the higher notes anymore though like he could in the 70's. I heard him on tv last week doing "rocket man" and his voice basically sounds shot - prolly age, and too many cigs. Great music tho.

I saw him in concert with Billy Joel in Minneapolis last summer, the show was phenomenal. He played nothing but his early stuff from the 70's.

I too, like the older stuff. I wouldn't say the newer stuff outright sucks, but its quality is lacking compared to the old stuff.

Also, his voice has lowered so much now that if you listen to him singing some of the old songs now, then listen to the original recordings, you can't even tell it's the same person singing.
