NE Shell Shocker M500 240GB 129.00

I was looking at this earlier and trying to compare to my current SSD (128GB Crucial m4). It seems like a mixed bag of whether the m4 or M500 perform better in various situations. Any thoughts? I would like to have some more space - I'm constantly swapping Steam games because 128 isn't enough.

It's definitely worth it just for the reliability and size. I too just upgraded recently from my trusty Crucial M4 128GB to a the new M500 240GB. Just needed more size.

Speeds between the two are very similar but the IOPs are higher on the M500 and it seems slightly snappier overall than my older M4.

And and MLC ram equipped reliable drive for $129.99?? Buy it!! 🙂

Amazon's price just went back up to $139, although their 480GB drive is at $260.

I'm really, really tempted to get the 480GB model.

I saw that $260 price on the 480 also, If I didn't have so many unused SSD's piled up now I would be all over that as well.
 
Good deal while it lasted. But I'm still waiting for 1TB (or thereabouts) for around $200. Probably another year or two away from that though, at least.

Depends on your usage i guess. The Evo is definitely faster, but the Crucial should last longer (TLC vs. MLC nand).

I'd go with the Crucial personally for the price and MLC.
