NE Patriots Superbowl XXXVIII Champs!

I think it is fair to say that the PATs will beat down 'dem dirty play panthers :|

You only think it's crappy because your favorite team is not there. I will be rooting for the Panthers, and I think we have a good chance of winning it. With the kind of beating we put on the Eagles today, McNabb and the receivers mostly, I don't think the Patriots will be able to do any better.

Agreed. This sucks!

/me throws popcorn at monitor

It also sucks that the game will be carried on the only channel I can't get in HDTV...

Uh no, really has nothing to do with my favorite team. It's two teams that just are not that exciting to watch.

There were a few games that would have been awesome to watch

Colts vs Packs (two great QB's and RB's)
Titans vs St. Louis (rematch of 1999 Superbowl)
or Chiefs vs St Louis (two great O's and coachs vs each other)

Any of those 3 games would have been far superior to this game.

I'll only "root" for NE because they are AFC.

I'll throw in Colts vs. Rams!

that would've been an awesome SB! 2 high powered offensive teams = exciting game

2 high powered defensive teams = borefest, as in Pats vs Panthers

However, I must cheer for Pats.

Cats have good players, but their dirty plays left a bad taste in my mouth. Let's see how they perform in the SB...they may still win my respect 🙂

What was Peyton's QB rating today?

Brady and the Pat's get NO respect. What place were they in at the end of the season? Where are they now? C'mon. It's gonna be the second ring in three years! Go Pat's!

Are you kidding? the Eagles shot themselves in the foot with their wideouts. Sure you can believe the Panthers did it, but it was mostly a ton of bad passes, poorly executed routes, and some slippery fingers.

5 turnovers, 6 dropped passes, 5 sacks, were getting manhandled in the secondary with no help from refs, and the panthers still only won by 11

the panthers suck. the eagles just sucked more. they'll get destroyed in the SB

lets not forget that the pats beat down the eagles to the tune of 31-10 earlier this year.

For all those saying that this superbowl sucks, here's a perspective on it that I just posted on another thread.

Watching the Pats play is like watching a chess match. They take the opposition's single greatest strength, and eliminate it. Then, they wait for the opponent to make a mistake with their only partially effective offense. After they inevitably make one, the Pats just simply hold that lead and work it until time runs out. It's really fascinating to watch.

Ironically, the Pats offense is actually the best suited one for facing the Pats defense. They have several receivers who are all on about equal footing. As a result, if one is taken out, it's not a huge loss.

Just something to think about when watching that might make it more interesting for you.

Although I may also just find it interesting because I'm a Pats fan. 😉

that is interesting, otho, I think you may have overanalyzed it a little bit 🙂

Possibly, but I seem to see the same thing every game. In fact, the last one where that didn't really happen was the first game against Indy. There, they tried to stay as aggressive as possible on offense to prevent a Manning comeback, but it almost backfired.

I will try to watch this SB for those points you have stated. If the Pats truely play this way, you will undoubtedly opened my eyes to see football games in a new light. 🙂

Agreed. Being a Left-coast'er, what's the excitement in watching a game between 2 teams from clear on the other side of the country?
