Two of the best backcourts in the game right now showdown at Assembly Hall in Champaigne Il. Both teams protecting a perfect record with powerful offense. Illinois is shooting over 50% from the floor and 47% from beyond the arc. This ought to be a great matchup tonight. Any thoughts?

I don't even know who to cheer for.
Part of me says always cheer against Illinois, but part of me wants to see the Big 10 win.

As an avid college basketball fan, I will be watching this game for many reasons:
-Great backcourt match-up between two of the best in college. Fun for everyone. How could a college bball fan not want to watch this game (unless your favorite school happens to be on at the same time)
-Can the Big Ten regain some lost respect. They haven't won a Big Ten/ACC challene yet, but this would bring down the ACC a peg or two if their top team lost.
-How much of the "east coast" bias will be shown tonight. I've heard that Jay Bilas is covering the game tonight. Along with Dick Vitale, they both over-hype teams in the ACC/Big East/etc. Will he give Illinois their due respect if they win? Or will he just make excuses and proclaim Duke/UNC/State/GT as the "new best team" in the country (completely ignoring the U of I or other great programs like KU and Cuse). I am personally biased myself, being an Illinois alum, but it is clearly apparent he favors the ACC no matter what. I think he actually bleeds Dook blue.

Kind of hard to overate a GT team who lost to UConn in the National Championship game, only lost 2 seniors from that team, and beat Michigan 99-68. The ACC has been an extremely good, if not the best, basketball conference for the past 10+ years. But if WF does lose, KU or UI will move to #1, with GT taking 3, and WF moving to 4-6 most likely.

and to keep #1, they shouldnt have nearly lost to the Vermont Catamounts IN LAWRENCE.
