yet another reason i like ESPN 2K5 football games A LOT more than EA's. EA hasn't fixed its problems that have been around for years, and yes that one is a major problem. they miss wide open catches on a regular basis. its annoying has hell.

better get used to it for the next 5 years however ... :(

Ummm actually they FIXED2005 compared to 2004 because in 2004 players NEVER dropped passes. It all has to do with momentum in 2005.

Yeah i'm using cal, in my seventh season i think. My O-line is fuggin amazing, my RT had like 80 pancakes heh

but still, if the pass hits em right in the numbers, the reciever should catch the fvckin ball. I mean come on, i can run easily, but hte fvckin dropped passes...ugh.

Go check out the NCAA2005 forums on maddenmania.com. They have some slider settings in there that makes the game a lot less frustrating and a little more realistic. 'WolverineManiac' has some of the best.

You're telling me you've never seen a WR drop a pass in real life after it hits the numbers? Sometimes people have off days and sometimes they take their eyes off the ball. It's all a part of the game. It happens, get over it and go play.

Actually, NCAA2005 is much worse than real life when it comes to dropped passes. The default settings can result in fighting to get a 30% completion percentage because of all the drops. That is why I suggested going to maddenmania.com and finding some slider settings for the game. I changed my game settings and am now at a more realistic 50-60% completion percentage.

User catching alleviates the problem a little. But this isn't a viable option on quick slants or screen passes.

sliders man. sliders.

I just lost to Oklahoma in a very tight game. 4th and goal with time running out, need a TD....

Throws it out of the back of the endzone.

I congratulate you as an official ESPN fanboy bringing the NFL game into a thread about a college football game that Sega doesn't even produce a contendor for.

Anywho, I also got frustrated as hell many times over the dropped passes. Although I still continued playing game after game :). If only they didn't have the dropped pass issue, it would've been basically perfect in my eyes.

im far from an ESPN fanboy. i didnt even like it until this year when i gave it a chance. seeing that EA's games have been the same for the past 3 years w/a little new features, i decided to try something completely different and i enjoyed it.

the dropped pass thing has been around forever. sure sometimes people miss wide open catches, but not 4/5 times as they do in the game. (NOTE EXAGGERATION)

27% is pretty bad. I've had some problems passing, but I can pass rather well vs. the computer and humans. The biggest problem is DBs that somehow outleap receivers on a perfect pass, or a QB throwing the ball over the head of your open receiver.

2005 is all about establishing the run game. i've put sliders all the way to to full and had a 99 overall receiver drop 1/2 of his wide open balls. bastards always think i'm throwing the ball too hard.

Try playing Madden 2005, especially online. The last game I played was against a dude who found a play that works every time (he even bragged about that over the headset). Every time I got ahead he'd just use that play to score 80 yd touch down. That was the last time I played online.
