What a worthless debate. It's not even a real moderated debate, just the two of them attacking each other. Not that I expect more from either of these two. They haven't exactly run a clean campaign.

No wonder Guilford College dropped them.

theres a very strong correlation between mud slinging and dropping voter turnouts.

Dole's leading by 10 points, I believe. Bowles lowers the gap the more he gets out though. He had to cut into the name recognition of Dole.

NC routinely votes republican for president, but consistently votes Democratic for governor, and often splits the Senate and House. Currently, the other Senator, John Edwards is a Democrat.

Of course, we're known for the gay hating Jesse Helms.

I'm watching it now, and although I'm a registered Republican, I'm leaning towards Bowles. He seems the most honest between them. He answers most questions in a straightfoward manner which I appreciate, Dole seems to skip around the issue/question. She seems more of a politician than Bowles. About the only thing I am concerned with is his name, Erskine. WTH were his parents thinking when they named him?

NC is a strange state. They are Republican when it comes to Presidntial elections, but Democratic on Governor and Senate.

I don't trust Erskine. He was named recently in that Connecticut Pension Fund mishandling lawsuit. Plus he was friends with Bubba Clinton.

My wife and I supported Dole when she ran for president, but we cannot stand how she's swapped positions now that she's running for Senate.

Before: For assault arms ban
After: Against any ban

Before: Pro-Life, but against anti-abortion laws
After: For anti-abortion laws

Also, my parents have met Bowles and say he's a great guy.

A lot of the Republicans who love Dole now, hater her when she put those lights in rear windows and airbags in cars.
