NBC'S COCERAGE OF THE OLYMPICS!!!!!!!!!

Fricken NBC's coverage of the olympics is the worst Ive ever freaking seen. Im a big fan of the olympic events, and almost all events I can handle being televised, despite the fact that some I like much more than others. B ut I don't mind watching curling/figure skating etc. as long as its good freaking coverage.

I just got done watching the Snowboards cross (womens) which is a VERY freakin awesome sport by the way. IN the finals two of the girls went down very hard early to mid race. One of them ended up being pulled off on a stretcher... sine hs'es not freaking american though, we don't know wtf happened to her. I mean wtf, they ONLY COVER AMERICAN STORIES, AND NOT EVEN THAT WELL!!!!!!!!!!! I want to know what happened to the girl that went flying through the fence!! Also, in the events Ive noticed the camera/commentary is largely focused on ONLY AMERICANS! A lot fo times in the snowboard cross or speed skating events two people may finish far ahead of the rest of the pack (because of wrecks etc..) and if an American isn't one ofthose freaking people fighting for 3rd place THEYH WON'T EVNE SHOW THE OTHER PEOPLE FINISHING THE RACE. They just freaking act like the race is over and we watch the American celebrate or whatever it is the hell they are doing! Now don't get me wrong, Im very patriotic, but I want' to see ALL the action, not just the Americans. WTF. They barely even mention who finishes in 3rd place. Its jlust like (oh yea canada got third) Even after the fact they don't go back and show replays or anything.

This is in my opinon the freaking WORST Olympic coverage I have EVER seen in my ENtire FREAKING LIFE! (Im only 20 though).

Question: Has NBC always (or atleast always recently) been the network that covers the olympics?

The coverage is ok, but I'm tired of them switching between events so fast. It seems like I just have started to watch one event, they finish someones run, and on to another event.

If you think this is the worst coverage ever, you missed the (I think) 1986 olympics.

Let's take a look "up close and personal"

They did that with every US medal contender and it was invariably a horribly produced segment that lasted twice as long as the event...

I haven't been watching, but based on your account that truley does royally suck. I'm American. If I was to watch an event I would like to see more than just the Americans.

I agree with you. I was watching it the other day with a friend of mine (she used to figure skate), and she was griping the WHOLE TIME about how they would go on and on about how well the Americans were doing, when they weren't, and just ignore everyone else.

I was 1 years old, obviously don't remember those olympics very well. Like I said, worst ****I******** have ever seen. And I stated my age.

Dartmouth, you got something to say? Or you just being a troll?

is a cocerage like what you use at a hotel/resort to assist with getting associated with services and the town?

those people rock. Hey you! Yeah you, cocerage - this is what I need...you fetch.

Dude.. the winter olympics suck donkey balls. Get over it.

I happen to be a big fan of Speed Skating, all snowboarding events (especially snowboard cross) hockey, luge, bobsled, and even curling to a certain extent. Im sorry you don't like the sports. Don't watch it. But it doesn't change the fact that NBC's coverage is very one sided.

Well I like curling, but only for the hot chicks 🙂

The thing is, they are not gonna cover this nearly as much as the Summer Olympics, thats the real sh!t.

Living in Michigan near Canada we get channel 9 CBC and their coverage is better and more it.

I will give this one to Canada... They do know how to cover an olympics.

That having been said, I am very pleasantly surprised by NBC (et al) coverage of the olympics so far. Much better than I anticipated (bear in mind that my expectations were very low). NBC Primetime is showing more than just skating. I've been able to watch some hockey on Universal HD, Curling on MSNBC and CNBC has had some good stuff too. I haven't seen anything on USA (Dish Network dropped them).

You just have to flip around the channels. I'd actually have to say that this is one of the better covered olympics I've seen. (33... Been watching the winter olympics since the "Miracle on Ice" when they only showed stuff on one channel)

It's an american station, of course they are going to focus on the Americans.
Go over to Italy, Britian, russia or any other country and see which athletes they are focusing on. I'm willing to bet it's the athletes from their respective countries.

I'm guessing you're way too dumb to understand that.

A stupid American girl tries to show off and screws up her lead 50 feet before the finish line. The girl from Switzerland wins the gold... who do you think they did all the coverage on?

But you can't blame the networks, they're only playing to the audience's attention span.
