That's exactly the reason.
Yes Lebron can get endorsements anywhere but a bigger market brings a LOT more exposure and opportunities and it doesn't get bigger than NY.

Say for instance LJ gets a cut for every jersey or sneaker that sells.
There's going to be a lot more NY LJ jerseys and sneakers sold in NY than in Cleveland.

Not saying he's going to NY, but if he does, it would be more profitable for him financially.
