That would set a dangerous precedent. Best to leave it as it is and only call it on players over 7 feet tall.

I'm pumped for the season ... I'm from Canada, but down in the Phoenix area for the next couple of weeks on holidays ... and I've got 9th row, center court tickets for the Suns vs. the Hornets. SO PUMPED >>> can't wait to get there.

I'm a fan of the Spurs, and although it looks like they've made some impressive additions, I'll believe it when I see it. Just hope Manu is healthy, and Duncan's knees can take it another season.

Why are you hyped up over the spurs? All they did was get Jefferson right? I think the spurs are a little old. Ginobili is falling apart and Duncan's feet and knees can't hold up anymore. I look for the mavericks to be in first in the sw division. I'm really not too worried about Howard right now. Marion plays the same position and can hold it down till he gets back.

Oh wow - I mean seriously, WOW.

Jefferson, McDyess, and DeJuan Blair. Manu is healthy, and Duncan's body is perfectly fine at this point. Most of the older players were traded off to get Jefferson, and our average age is much younger than it ever was.

Ugh, I don't want to get into this again - I really should just stay out of the NBA threads on this forum.

P.S. My wife is a Mavs fan, and thinks the Spurs had a better off-season.

I agree with you dougp. The Spurs will be a good team. Popovich doesn't put together shit teams. He and Buford are 2 smart ass mother effers.

excited to see how rockets' fare this year without yao + t-mac. hoping to see scola + brooks pick up scoring load, and if the other young guys step up in their roles. it'll be rocky but should be interesting, go rox!!

Lakers will be champions folks.

The Celtics lost Posey last year, and did not replace him with anyone significant who could reprise his role. They needed him.

The Lakers lost Ariza, but did replace him with someone significant. Ron Artest.

If you really think that Phil Jackson is not channeling the inner Rodman out of Artest, you're a fucking idiot. He's going to treat him the exact same way he did Rodman: "you do whatever you want off the court, so long as you do EXACTLY WHAT I WANT on the court".

Artest is already whipped. With Kobe there to check him in case he goes bonkers, and his childhood buddy Odom there to soften his falls, there is no way that he will be the bane of this Laker season.

Our biggest weakness (and it's a very big problem) is dribble penetration. We don't have a point guard to handle the Pauls, the Derons, the Randos. I wish Eric Maynor fell to us in the draft.

I read two steps is now legal... obviously a ploy to allow specific players to continue showboating because it brings in big bucks

normally that would be fisher's role but it's clear that he's lost a step and his shot is so on and off. hopefully, brown, farmar or vujacic can step it up.

Bump for NBA talk and updates. As I predicted Mavs are on their way to winning the sw division and also predicted the spurs were too old to contend. Maybe the surprise of the year so far is the Suns are having a good year.

I forgot about this thread. My first post is full of win. Mavs are currently 3rd in conference and it looks to be lakers vs cavs for the finals.

Mavs have lost a few recently, I hope they pick it up, as I really like Dirk. Hopefully, magic go the Finals, anything but them cavs lol. Lakers seem very soft, tbh I don't like them - they don't want it as bad as other championship teams. They fluked it last year when Magic were stupid enough to bring jameer back in the finals and ruin the team chemistry.

Currently, yes. I do hope the nuggets catch fire but its unlikely, particularly with Kenyon's knee problems re-appearing :( :(

Kobe is awesome but the rest of the team is just pure fail in terms of effort.

How so? The Lakers have a stacked lineup.. Kobe, Gasol, Bynum, Odom, Artest and so on..
Can you name me another team that's can match 5 players that I listed?
