Feel free to add your comments/predictions here too...

As one of the few die hard Clippers fans, I have to say that coach Alvin Gentry did a fine job and the team really gave a good effort this season. They just missed the playoffs, but their captain, starting small forward, and last year's leading scorer Lamar Odom only played 20 some games due to injury and their starting shooting guard Corey Magette was out for half the season... Keyon Dooling was injured too. In my opinion, Darius Miles, Jeff McInnis and Quentin Richardson improved tremendously as Richardson is the leading bench scorer in the NBA. I'm sure that next year (assuming their roster doesn't change too much) they will make playoffs for SURE. I think they need to get rid of Olowakandi (even though he's been lighting it up lately) and pick up a real center, even though good centers are hard to come by.

The Lakers' performance this season was pretty disappointing. They should have a dominating hold at #1 right now but are struggling at the top 3/4. I predict they will get their acts together by playoffs and win again though. I hope so, cuz I got playoff tickets and I want to see some good basketball :) I still say we need to replace Rick Fox ASAP.

Dallas improved a lot too. I think in a couple of years they will be a serious threat to the Lakers, being that everyone in the Lakers is pretty old and Dallas is a pretty young team. The acquisition of Van Exel and La Frenz probably made everyone else in the west aware of their capabilities.

Utah needs to give up. They are gonna get eliminated in the 1st round. Malone and Stockton are past their prime but still effective. Yet they aren't gonna do any good in Utah unless they get another Hornacek-type player. (Did anyone else think that Hornacek and Jerry Sloan looked like father/son? lol)

No comment in the Eastern Conference. Obviously, whoever takes the Western Conference will take the finals.

The biggest matchup this season will be LA Lakers vs the Kings. Given C Webb's performance record during playoffs throughout his career though, I think we (LA) will beat them like we did last season. If Rick Fox can shut down Peja again, it should be no problemo. Vlade is a joke (sorry to say) and Bibby isn't much of a scorer to be too much of a threat. Unfortunately, Derek Fisher probably won't be shooting 15/20 behind the arc again though :p I know, it's too early to say, but I have faith in LA! :)

Yeah, I don't think that looks good either, but I'm a diehard Lakers fan and they MUST WIN! :)

Like everbody else, I think Dallas is the most dangerous team in the West. Winning a series against them will be tough for any team, let alone a game or two. And I would like to see Detriot do well in the playoffs, since they're a good story this year.

And WTF happened to the Bucks? Anyone else think that Allen and/or Robinson will get traded? Who knows what George Karl will do with the team? She he still be coach after their meltdown the last 30 games of the season?

My Mavs team should do well. I think the Lakers are the team to beat, but they don't look as strong as last year heading into the playoffs. The west has incredible competition, and whoever makes it to the finals is going to take a beating getting there. The finals should be a cakewalk for the West winner compared to the rest of the playoffs, because the East is really weak this year.

Prediction: Mavs beat Nets in finals :D

I'm a milwaukee fan. Part of what happened to them is injuries, but I think more of it was that they used injury as an excuse to poison their own mindsets and lose confidence. Lack of confidence in a jump shooting team will screw the team over every time.

Here are my picks:

1st Rnd:
Nets vs Pacers: Nets in 4
Pistons vs Raptors: Pistons in 4
Sixers vs Celtics: Sixers in 4
Hornets vs Magic: Hornets in 5

Kings vs Utah: Kings in 3
Spurs vs Sonics: Spurs in 4
Lakers vs Blazers: Lakers in 3
Mavs vs Wolves: Mavs in 4

I'm confused by the rules of the second round, but I'm assuming that it's 1/8 vs 4/5 even if 6 and 1 win. Is that right? If so:
Nets vs Hornets: Nets in 5
Pistons vs Sixers: Sixers in 7

Kings vs Mavs: Kings in 6
Spurs vs Lakers: Lakers in 5

3rd Rnd:
Nets vs Sixers: Nets in 7
Kings vs Lakers: Lakers in 5

Finals: Lakers over Nets in 5

I'm not gonna list all my predictions and stuff but I'm a diehard NBA fan. I predict the Kings to win it all just cuz I hate the Lakers (secretly I'm guessing Rick Fox's Lake Show will take the trophy again, but don't tell anyone).

The Clippers will probably not make the playoffs next year unless the Jazz really fall. I don't see any other team dropping to let them in, maybe the Timberwolves but not likely. I like the Clippers, but the West is really hard and they started the season so so so horribly on the road, its tough to make the playoffs when you can't win on the road.

Olowakandi is great, he is a true center and the Clippers would do good to hold onto him, but since he trashed them in the media a few weeks ago he probably won't be coming back. He was speaking the truth in the papers it seems though, the Clippers owner doesn't want to have to pay to retain quality players, instead he gets young talent that doesn't require the higher salaries and then lets them get away eventually. I hope the Kandi Man stays in LA (on the Clip Joint) or goes to BOSTON. Now that would be sweet!

Boston will beat Philly and push the Pistons to 7 games in the second round. From there its a toss up. Boston is my favorite team if you haven't noticed.

Paul Pierce is my new hero, even though he went to Kansas.

Oh yeah, another thing about the Jazz... Andrei Kirilenko (sp) is going to be a great player if he can gain a little weight yet keep his quickness. He can shoot, he hustles and blocks shots and rebounds. He can jump for a tall lanky white dude too. The Jazz also have DeShawn Stevenson who looks like he could turn into something nice in a few years. The Jazz don't have to worry too much, they have better ownership than the Clippers and a strong, DIEhard FANBASE.

I like the Spurs this season. I know they lost 3/4 from the lakers but playoffs are a whole different game. They have an excellent front court and a solid backcourt. Lakers will give them a tough time but i think spurs will take it in 6. then it'll be sac in 5 and nets in 4. i didn't mention seattle 'cuz they'll sweep 'em.

Lakers over Spurs in 5

Toss up between Kings vs Mavs in 7

Its simple, Dallas is one of the best road teams, and they were 3-1 vs the Kings this season, winning both road games, although one at the end of the season where it didnt much matter.

I keep finding myself rooting for the underdogs this playoffs.

I've never liked Utah and Indiana, but I cheered Indiana beating NJ, and I'm watching with delight as Utah's giving Sac a run for the money.

On another note, does anyone else think that C-Webb is way overrated? I'm a Michigan guy, and I watched him play w/ the Fab Five. I hoped and prayed that he would sign with Detroit when he was a free agent. But, after watching Jermaine O'Neal up his intensity and take the team on his shoulders, Webber pales in comparison. Did you know his playoff scoring average is 3 points lower than this season average? Watching him play the first half....what a lackidasical fool. No hustle, no heart, just shooting college range 3's. I'll take a hustling Ben Wallace (*cough* Defensive Player of the Year) over overpaid, overrated C-Webb anyday!
