it's just a rumor.
Nets should have a lot of money next year to sign FA's
I think he'll stay.

unless the Nets sign some big men, like Abdur-Rahim, i can't imagine Kidd wanting to stay. he's getting old and NJ is lottery bound with their current team.

If the Mavs weren't willing to match the Suns' offer for Nash, I doubt they will take Kidd's long term contract.

considering how small their fan base is already, that's not a good thing.

maybe moving to Brooklyn will help.

They would be absorbing a little bit considering Walker has a sizeable contract for this season. Cuban knows having 1 rookie and one 2nd year player at PG isn't going to cut it. Might as well get something in return for Walker who wants nothing to do with the Mavs.

Can teams and players restructure contracts? At this point Kidd wants to win, and I dont think its about the money. If they can resturcture his contract, I think Dallas go for it. But you are right they wont go for his current contract.

Yeah its not like they would be gaining salary, it would be and even $ for $ trade. With the Nash deal Cuban would have been paying a butt load(more) in luxury tax.

I for one think Kidd is overrated. He is a nice passer and defender, and does make the team better. The contract is the killer though, 5 years and 90 million would be a huge albatross if he got hurt or just declined as a player.

Kidd going to the Lakers?

Why would the Lakers go after Kidd when they have Payton at PG already?

B/C Payton blows?

Tis true, tis true.

So what are they going to do with Payton if they get Kidd? I doubt the Nets would do a trade for Payton, and I doubt the Lakers would even make an effort to get Kidd.

Ratner is a real RAT. :(

ok fine, so they are taking the team to brooklyn is that any reason to cheat the fans in NJ while they are still here?

selling everyone off to get draft picks. what a joke.

He could come to LA but the Lakers don't want to be capped out for the next 5 years. They would have a downright SCARY team tho if this happens.

Lakers Trade:
Gary Payton
Rick Fox
Brian Cook
Kareem Rush
Future 1st

Nets trade:
Jason Kidd

Lakers 2005 Starting Lineup:

PG Jason Kidd
SG Kobe Bryant
SF Lamar Odom
PF Brian Grant/Malone?
C Vlade Divac

or

PG Jason Kidd
SG Kobe Bryant
SF Caron Butler
PF Lamar Odom
C Vlade Divac

Best passing team in the NBA. Good night League.

That's what every Laker fan said last year. Turned out great, didn't it?

That lineup is worse than last years. "Good night league" indeed.
