Man, am I the only person who thinks he should just retire? For his and Orlando's sake, he should let the Magic buy out his contract or something like that. It's bittersweet as a Piston's fan. We got the better end of the sign and trade involving Grant Hill for Ben Wallace and Chucky Atikins, but it sucks to see him play a few games for the past several years.

He's done....When he is able to come back, he's going to be too old and will have lost that explosive first step that made him.....

he'll play, but this is just an orlando move to get some salary cap money, imo.

you notice nothing was released from the Hill camp...

can they do that? if the NBA doctors say he can't play and Orlando gets some salary cap money, can Grant still play?

<Nelson>HA HA</Nelson>

serves him right. he screwed the pistons. muwahahahaha! 47 games or something like that hes played in lol

Surprise surprise!

He should just do everyone a favor and retire. Last year was a clear indication that his career is done.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.......
I really like Grant Hill too....
stupid Pistons making him play on his wrecked ankle...ruined his career...
hopefully the magic can get some kind of injured relief or whatever its called that the knicks got this year for Mcdyess...
and as for Orlando being the dead end for careers...i don't get it...who else died out there?
seems most...(penny, nick anderson, dennis scott) all just retired by age except penny who's still playing, just not at his old level...

PORTLAND, there's a place where good careers go die, or never start, or don't blossom...
(derek anderson, zach randolph, jermaine o'neal, damon stoudmire, antonio daniels, jeff mcinnis)

what about Grant Hill coming back for Orlando and hurting himself again? was that Orlando's fault?

i think Grant may have overestimated his phyical condition or got bad advice from his doctors.

First of all Grant wanted to play, the pistons didn't force him to play. You can't just force him to play, he was our superstar. We thought he would stay. He told Joe D. that he would stay but then left. Thats why we drafted Mateen Cleeves rather than ANYONE. We were hoping they could be somewhat of a stockton-malone combo. Thats why free agency needs to be before the draft so teams can know what positions they need to fill incase a person bolts.

Hill backstabbed us and took off. Joe was smart and was able to get chucky atkins and ben wallce.(Orlando orginally wanted to give us someone else instead of wallace, i forgot who, but, they decided that wallace was worse so they sent him).

Hill's ankle problem stemmed from the first sugery. The surgery was botched and essentially the rest of the surgeries were to correct the first one. When we played the magic some orlando journalists were accusing us of ruining him. We didn't even know he would leave until after the draft. So why would we ruin him?

I am happy to hear this because it is not that he left, its the way he left. He backstabbed us and told us last second. If we knew after the season, we could have drafted des mase, turkoglu, mo pete, or quentin richarson.
He also said some negative things about the organization. most insulting was to stack. "I wish good luck to stackhouse, he's gonna need it."

He has never been back to the palace where we are waiting to boo him. He didn't show during the playoff series. Wuss!!!

It's called karma

Than someone else would have been John Amechi. 😀 It would have been a fair trade if we got him instead of Wallace. 😉

Yeah, I love seeing him not playing for someone else...the trade from Detroit was great. But it is unfortunate, since he was a good player and really would've been amazing with Tracy McG if he was healthy.

Oh well, lots of "ifs".
