atleast you guys have decent teams. I'm int he bay area, I have suffer through the crap that is the warriors.

its just one poor business decision after another.

they traded webber in favor of Don Nelson?

they let Arenas go in favor of Jason Caffey and Chris Mills.

WTF were they doing giving Mike Bumleavy a 45 million dollar deal. the guy is a #3 pick. and he hasn't done much. The duke curse continues. and they passed up Amare for this guy.

they gave Troy murphy some 50 million also. that guy sucks. stop taking 3s. That is he's a such a softy. he's 6'10 get in there and get some rebounds.

picking up baron davis was a waste, the guy is injury prone.

we're coming up on 12 or 13 straight years without a playoff appearance.

Phoenix with a healthy amare is pointless supposition. He's not healthy and he's out. Phoenix is on its way down and the nets are on their way up. Detroit hasn't looked all that strong the past few months.

Don't forget about Denver. Denver is leading their division but is probably no better than Indiana this year. They would only have home court advantage against the #8 seed in the second round.

I think San Antonio + Dallas vs Detroit + Miami is pretty even. San Antonio is better than detroit, but Miami is better than Dallas (sometimes).

last year when the wizs had Hughes, Arenas and Jamison

I always call them Warriors II. 🙂

still do but it would stick better if Hughes stuck around.

And they are still the Bullets to me😉. Arenas is great and young. He is probably the best player the Bullets ever had. I was mad when Hughes left but we are doing ok without him.

is Troy Murphy really that bad? I have him on my fantasy team and before he got injured, he was making a decent amount of 3's, and he's usually good for 10-12 boards a game. But yeah I feel real bad for ya'll, I was thinking warriors would make playoffs this year.

how about having a clue before you post in an NBA-related thread?

Amare is done for the season, and if you want to say that the Suns are better than "TEAM X" with Amare, go ahead, but the fact remains he's not likely to contribute anything to them this season or in the playoffs...and clearly it's affected them, they just got clobbered by the Nets and the Bucks

I've said all season that the East has caught up to the West.

Duncan's foot may still be an issue, but the Spurs are still very deep and the team to beat in the West. Dallas is very good, and this is a different team than the typical Mav's teams of the past 5 or 6 seasons, they are deep, athletic, defend well - all things they have not done in the past.

I think the Suns are ripe for an upset, and even if they win in the first round I don't see them winning in the 2nd round.

Denver is ok - can give the Suns problems, but not the Mavs or the Spurs...Memphis is a step down from them, Sacramento is nothing (Artest continues to be the most overrated player in the league in the last 25 years) - and in fact he's already causing problems with Adelman, who I think has done a nice job this year considering the roster turnover they have gone through, and the Lakers, well....nuff said....I think Utah could actually cause some problems for teams if they can sneak in, but it isn't likely..they have excellent front-court depth.

Clearly the Pistons are the best team in the NBA thus far - they have been exceptionally fortunate on the injury front, and their depth is average at best...they did add a few big bodies to help against Shaq in Davis and Cato, but they have no offense at all off the bench - if any of their starters gets hurt, they could be in trouble, but if they stay healthy they have to be the favorites.

The Heat are very good - they need Alonzo to be available to be able to beat Detroit though. They can score off the bench, Wade is amazing, and they still have Shaq.

NJ is playing very well, and there is a lot more to them than "clear out for Carter" - Jefferson is very good, Kidd is back to his old self, Kristic is a solid player, and Robinson is a nice versatile guy to bring off the bench. They are at least as good as the Suns in terms of being the #3 team in their conference - in fact they just beat them by 30+ a few days ago.

Cleveland is a solid #4 seed, they have wins over Detroit, Dallas, SA, and the Suns this year...they have been very 'streaky', but when they shoot well they are tough to beat....LeBron's first playoff series will be interesting, they get homecourt against the Wizards most likely.

I'm looking forward to it, though there should never be more than a single day in between games, it's silly to have 2 or 3 day breaks in between games in a series.

Pgold and I agree on something sports related? Stop the press!

SA, to me, is a team built for the playoffs...the depth and the mentality of the team is waht carries them thru the first two rounds without much trouble. Duncan has been hampered by injuries and hopefully the can clinch the first seed in the west and rest him for how many ever games, but at best it'll be like 2 or 3 games. If it wasnt for this goofy divisional seeding, then neither SA or Dallas would have to worry so much about winning the conference in teh regular season. Anyway, its gonna be exciting to see what happens.

exactly, this is a noteworthy occurence. 😉

hey, you know i like NJ but i still think they are a step behind pheonix although not by much.

also, there is talk about duncan having some real health problems. if duncan goes out due to injury, the spurs become no better than cleveland in my mind. really biasing things towards the east.

nba is so predictable

BS...you didnt predict detroit's championship in 04, you didnt predict phoenix's dominance last year, nor did you predict dallas's success this year.

however, it is predictable in a sense because there are enough games so that the best team will win...its a seven game series, so there isnt much chance that an inferior team can win 4 games against a better one....which makes it more accurate rather than predictable

Don't forget Seattle having a good season last year and then stinking it up this year.

I think it's going to be Detriot vs. SA in the finals, and it could go either way.

And Detroit shouldn't get too comfortable because Miami could very well upset them in the conference finals.

Orlando beats Dallas tonite. further supporting the premise that there is a lot more parity between the east and west than there was 3 yrs ago.

Dallas is missing 3 of its best players, in fact 3 of it's best defensive players. Howard is the second best guy on the team, and they are missing their starting point guard. This is hardly a case for parity, but a result of injuries.

GeneValgene, wtf are you talking about? Forgot Miami haven't you? Franlly, Dallas is not equal to Miami. also, the Pacers traded Sacramento and got Stojakovic who is a scary 3-point shooter. The parity ain't that big. the east is getting better. it is more equal as you saw in the All Star. although the Allstar is not a serious game, the last time, the west won without any trouble. O'neil, as much as i hate him, can score and did help Miami. so i don't think that you conclusion is correct. the parity between the east and the west has actually decreased.

i guess we'll have to see...you're right, Dallas is not equal to Miami 😉
