I'd like to know as well..

I liked Live over 2K once year, the next year I like 2K2.. this year, I'm going to get whatever is more realistic, one reason why I favor Madden over 2K3..

NFL 2K1 and 2K2 were awesome on the DC, and I was expecting the same for 2K3 on the PS2 but it ended up being pretty lame. I liked the 2K basketball games on the DC as well, but I never really played Live so I can't compare.

Isn't Live 2003 supposed to have the new freestyle controls w/ the right analog stick?

Is Live 2003 online w/ the PS2? I've always been a 2K junkie, but that new move system w/ the right analog looks cool.

That was my vote... until I saw Live's commercial over the weekend. Wow. Anyway, now I'm wavering in my position.

Edit: Did you see the footage of a player saving a ball by tossing it between his legs as he flies out of bounds??? Un-freaking-believable. The lack of such a move (even in a simpler form) has been one of my biggest complaints about basketball games over the past few years.

I think they're both online capable, with the 2K3 getting rave review about smoothness (so far anyways) online...
and the right analog freestyle move for LIVE seems pretty cool, but the 2Ks were so awesome on DC...

Xbox = 2K3 no question. Get online so you can be beaten and embarassed by other players... such as myself. :D

GameCube = 2K3 since EA tends to f*k up any version of a game that isn't on PS2. Just look at how bad their Need for Speed 2 port is. The PS2 version looks better and plays better.

For the PS2 version, I'd wait a bit. In the past Live has sucked pretty bad... really bad infact and it still sold better than the 2K series which were better games, but this year it looks like they may have done something right. The Right analog control looks like something well thought out.

I've got Live 2003 on the PS2. Bought it this weekend. I really like it. I prefered Live over 2K2 last year because it was easier for folks that don't play it often to get in the game. It's more arcade feeling, but I don't really mind. Generally, if both people are somewhat familiar with the game, most games are going to be close and fun. The new freestyle control is interesting, although I haven't mastered it yet. I still just sort of mess around with it. The online mode is great. Lag rarely shows up, and 4 out of 5 games will appear to be lag free; as if you are playing with someone next to you.

If you liked Live 2002, you'll like this. The pace is sped up a bit and the new animations are great. Plays actually seem to somewhat useful now.

I haven't played 2K3 yet, so I can't compare. I'm sure it's good too. But, if you like Live, you'll like the new one as well.

NBA Live 2k3 is much better than last year's version. I never liked the Sega one though. I was playing the Nets v Boston online and it was a tough game. The other guy was good and some of the buttons changed. We got disconnected though in the middle of the 4th qtr. NJ was down by 5, but coming back.

I bought 2k3 the other day. It's a great game. Much improved over last years, and I prefered 2k2 over Live last year.
