NBA 2k11 looks fantastic!

Haha, I missed that earlier. Hilarious.

Wish they'd just cut out the first 3min and have the glitch only in the video.

I told yas 2k games were glitchy. Glitches are funny though. Some game recently has a shit ton of funny ass glitches...I think it was Red Dead Redemption.

That's not a 2K game... that's EA's shit game.
EA's sports games have been puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure shit for years now. ESPECIALLY their NBA series. Just HORRIBLE.

2K has the been the GOOD one. Especially in NBA. I think you have your stories reversed.

Played the demo for 2K11 on PS3 and it looks so ugly. I was reading that there is no AA at all for the PS3 and it looks better for the 360.

It looks really good and I watched the IGN review, but they have a White House invitation in the game........

Also, NBA Jam comes out along with Castlevania. I will have lots to do. Last years NBA Live was awful to me, I got rid of it after playing two games.

I'd consider buying it if we could have a successful AT league. But since my efforts to get a 2K10 league going went nowhere, I doubt a 2k11 league will happen.

I've beem playing for a week or so.
Its pretty good. Nothing revolutionary or anything. So far a lot of the same it seems. I play a lot more "My Player" it seems these past two years. They added some good things to that aspect, and added some REALLY stupid ones (like post-game press conferences?!?!?)

After the IGN review I gave it another chance. It is a very good game but you MUST MUST MUST play it slow and deliberate. You can't fast break, and you can't beat a player 1 on 1 no matter what. Those are very frustrating, and its been a problem in 2K games since these new console generation. I guess they think that the game either has to be like this, or it would be too easy to run and gun the whole game.

I know personally, the last NBA game I enjoyed was 2k or 2k1 on dreamcast, where you could basically do all your scoring with one guy. I'm not really sure what was wrong with that, if the opponent wanted they could have stopped him. Surely today's AI would be a fine match for that kind of play. Not sure why the game is the way it is

I'd guess they are trying to make it as much of a real "sim" as possible. When you read any of the forums boards, that is what people have been asking for for the past 10 years. I think they get closer with every incarnation.

That being said, you most certainly can dominate with 1 player. Take LBJ or Kobe and you can pretty much score at will.

So you say that you liked past games where you could do all your scoring with one player and that if the AI wanted to stop it, it would have. Now that the AI is stopping it, you don't like it? I'm confused.

Sounds like you don't want sim-style basketball. Just play it on the easiest setting and score all your points with one player, or just pick up NBA Jam next month and be done with it.

Also picked this up today, on 360. Pretty good so far. One thing I noticed that's changed from the past 2 years is that even with my weak skills, I'm not getting completely stomped on the default Pro difficulty. I did play as Lakers against the Clippers though, so maybe there's just a bigger gap between good and bad teams. In the past, that hasn't seemed to matter.

Are the Celtics rated low this year?

In the beginning it starts you off in a classic game of the Lakers vs Bulls but i skipped it. I probably shouldn't have. Oh well I'm sure I can do it again but it was a cool intro.

Played a quick game of the Heat vs Suns. Like all the reviews have said so far, it's too easy for the computer to intercept passes and you definitely have to set up plays and make sure guys are open for shots. It's a lot slower than past years of always running into the paint and getting a dunk or lay-up which is good if you like realism or bad depending how you look at it. Picks are much better and it's great how well the guys move off the ball. Animations are much better when going to the basket. Less clipping when two players are near each other but of course there's still few occasions but much less than before. Graphics are ok nothing special to write home about. Not drop dead great but still good as usual. Commentary is good as usual as is presentation. In-between quarters they have a look at the real life games that are happening at the moment or going to happen which is cool. Only some pre-season stuff going on so it'll get better with the real season. I'm happy with it so far and I'm sure when I get into the Jordan thing it'll get better.

how is play execution this year? the thing that frustrated me most about 2k10 plays was that my guys wouldn't run their routes properly, miss setting picks, and the play would execute way too slowly. alot of times the player intending to receive the ball is nowhere near open.
