Whats with these guys? I am getting 5 calls a day from them 🙁. Why are they so desperate to get people? I never gave my number to them or requested more info about them so I don't know why I am getting so many calls 🙁

One of your friends ratted you out. Gave up your name and phone number to their recruiter.

Just my $0.02.

Just tell them you aren't interested.

They will continue to call. Tell them you already signed up with someone else. I went in at 17. Dad was more than willing to sign 🙂

i e-mailed the coasties about joining and all i got back was a canned e-mail telling me to show up for an information session.

i guess i got lucky.

At least with the Army (and I presume the other branches) they want to direct you to a local recruiter due to the way the system is set up. I am not sure the Army would give a different response.

don't ignore them
tell them you aren't interested.
Then demand they stop calling you.

And they most likely got it from your school, which gives them the information unless you tell them not to

I had to deal with all of them as well...
It was irritating as hell

USMC for the win - Semper Fi!

Marines, making the marine corps look bad for hundreds of years.

Seriously though, stop saying "wrong number" and start saying "not interested". I know that you feel special, but they don't remember you individually and only have a log book to keep track of people. According to that book you haven't shown disinterest yet.

Got me laughing pretty hard over here 🙂

They called me twice a day my senior year of high school and freshman year of college. 4 years later and I'm still getting brochures and letters weekly.

The country is involved in a multi fronted war. Soldiers are getting injured or killed every day. They need replacements. If you join them, then they will stop calling you.

I'm assuming you just turned 18?

in early June.

That's why. Same thing happened to me 3 years back. Double the traffic after you sign up for the selective service. (which you're required to do by law BTW)

The princible or dean thought you were going no where fast so they decided to give you up to the military. 😀

No joke, they use to do that back in the 60's.

God Bless the US Coast Guard...9-1-1 of the ocean.

They're usually not as aggressive in their recruiting, and FAR more selective than the other branches.

I enlisted in the USMC during the Vietnam War. They needed people and weren't too selective about who they took. In fact, back then, it was common for judges to say, "5 years in prison...or 3 years in the USMC," and the recruiters didn't care.
(I wasn't one of those...just an example of how non-selective they were)

OP, you have several options.

1) Tell them you're a convicted felon...narcotics is an easy out.

2) Tell them you're not interested. No way, no how. (they'll still call)

3) Tell them you have a disqualifying medical condition. (do your research first)

4) Tell them you're openly homosexual. (may or may not work)

5) Continue doing what you're doing...and they'll continue to pester you.

6) Enlist.

Just talk to them. Once you do, they will realize that you are not military material.

Well, the Airforce already has the best so they need to go gutter dwelling. 😉

Imagine getting a call back from the recruitor asking to meet you outside of work 😉
