It is directly on topic. Energy should be highly regulated, almost to the point of being Nationalized.

Corporations have clearly shown they cannot be self policed and trusted.

Actually Natural Gas prices continue to drop, so much so it's hurting Wyoming's budget.

Natural gas isn't a scarce resource, with the current gas prices it cost too much to drill the wells.

The "scarcity" comes from the fact that neither you or I have the equipment, the man power, the capital, or time to find and drill a hole into the ground that contains a pocket of natural gas and extract it ourselves and then process it and finally transport it for whatever purpose we require. Thus scarcity isn't always due to actual quantity of a resource but it can be due to the difficulty in accessing it and bringing it to market for the consumer to purchase.

yes, wyoming ( where i live) is cutting back on some things to balance their budget. they were planing on nearly $5 / mmcf. Wyoming is at the top of most "best run state" lists.
