I saw it and I couldn't help but see all these ridiculas plot holes. And I need to meet the DH cause she seems danm easy. If Nicolas can seduce her by kidnapping her then leading her on a wild goose chase all the while her life is in danger then a guy like me will have no problem with a flower and a nice dinner.

But the history was kinda nice. I'm a mild history buff, i got a kick out of it.

The finding of the Ark of the Covenant, a crazed Thugee Cult (that will pull your beating heart out of your chest), and the search for the Holy Grail don?t qualify?

Thats not my point.... my point was Indiana Jones didnt explain the history of anything like the national treasure movie did (with the charlotte, knights templar, how the "nobody" family came into the story, etc like I stated). Indiana Jones was more about the action than the story behind it (and thats fine)..... but I really liked the story behind the "treasure" and not just telling you it existed and have a mad chase for it.

Then I submit that the films aren't readily comparable. One is action/adventure the other is historical fiction/adventure.

True.... but after watching it I was reminded of Indiana Jones. the actual storyline is similar (there is a treasure and a race to get it/keep it). But yeah they arent really comparable in the sense that they tried to do 2 different things.

I still loved the way they worked history (however flawed) into the story. Really got alot of background info in and didnt feel like they spent 90% of the movie on background like alot of movies. they did a real good job of working it in slowly while not getting drawn out in the middle. During the movie I got the same feeling in IJ where you never were "bored" in the middle stanza like most movies created.
