Again, nothing matters in HS. 😉
I think 'nothing matters about high school after your college acceptance letter' would be a bit more proper.

Hehhehe, don't you also get "With Honors" attached to your name at graduation too?

Wow. When I was in high school there were only 30 people out of 473 in NHS. It was a pretty prestigious honor, and we really were intelligent people (so I believe at least 😛). I don't know who set up NHS standards in your school, but it's not like that everywhere.

My school's chapter of the NHS held a meeting today in the gym. They were in the process of having the floor refinished, and had a large portion of the room blocked off with cones and crime-scene style tape. These kids, supposedly the "best and brightest" in the school (The real geniuses are notably absent, and most of these are your typical social butterfly kids.) More than 1/2 of the school is in NHS - hence why they had to use the gym. Yeah, really "elite."
Anyway, these kids took it upon themselves to either move the cones or just plain step over them and _NOT A SINGLE ONE_ noticed that they were treading sticky stuff all over the room, much less the fact that they had just totally botched the entire refinishing.
Thank GOD I'm not affiliated with them. My course of study is too directed for their standards, and I tend to ignore work in classes that I'm not directing my studies towards - they're essentially excluding me from having to earn "points" and paying dues just to be able to put "National Honor Society" on my college apps just because I know what I'm doing in life.

Oh, and a free lapel pin if I remember correctly.

I was 6th in a class of near 400 and never bothered with the NHS. Too many meetings and other crap that didn't matter much for getting in to college.

I never knew that NHS was such a big organization with important meetings and what not. When I was in high school, I never even went to any of the meetings. Hell, we just had to have a certain GPA (3.8 or higher?) and that was it. You were automatically in. I believe that there may have been about 40 people out of a class of about 500 people in it. The people in it were usually the smarter people in the school, not idiots like you portray them to be.

Wow, you judged the entire NHS society based off one experience. Hey let me judge you based off this thread: I THINK YOU'RE A DUMBASS!!!!!!

Yeah I also got rejected from mine because I didn't have the required leadership experience.
Although at that time I was currently involved in a program at our HS where you go to the elementary schools and help some students with their work. I guess that doesn't involve leadership.
3.983 GPA... 11th in my class out of 320...
Not bad... 4.15 GPA, 10th in the class of 350
No one else seems to be mentioning it, but I find this rather funny.Originally posted by: EyeMWing

5.0 GPA here. you may have gotten A's in all your classes, but it takes real skill to get an SS!

Hey, it's the same here. It's the overachieving people who, in class, don't appear very smart, but do get 90's and are willing to do the community service. I don't know, but to me "required" and "community service" shouldn't go together unless it's a punishment...I didn't join myself, I had the credentials, but just did not feel like joining another one of these things and doing another 20 hours of community service.

Pretty decent, but I got a 5.12 GPA. Considering what I had to do though, I'm not sure if it was worth it.
